Infinity Sports International, (a top 5 ranked sports book by OSGA) is not answering their phones and their website has been down for 2 days now. Anybody considering sending in their money should hold off!! Does anybody know anything else about this situation? Thanks.

This could be why their server is down. 300,000 servers got knocked out of service by the CODE RED worm.

Calling all packet radio enthusiasts: The SANS Institute wants you.

Word's out that SANS is calling on ham radio operators to step into the communications breach should the Internet crash. That old-world emergency plan doesn't sound so bad given the events of the past week or so: The SirCam worm spun through cyberspace, the Code Red worm was still racking up damage (more than 300,000 servers infected), and ISPs were recovering from damage to their Internet backbones after a train derailment in Baltimore took out some fiber optic cable (19th-century invention undoes 21st-century communications!).

I just got back home from my getaway and called one of the owners' of Infinity, Millennium and Gibraltar.
These 3 sportsbooks (in the same building) are in the middle of a HUGE upgrade to their systems, software, phones, etc., getting ready for football season. They are experiencing some upgrade problems as well as satellite problems. This affects the phone lines as well as the internet site. Everything always has to happen at the same time, right? ugh!

Anyway, you have NOTHING to worry about. EVERYTHING, with ALL 3 books will be operating smoothly and better than ever as soon as they fix the satellite problem.

I hope this eases your concerns.

i applaude those who report these things immediatly. i had a situation much like this last week and some people told me to cool it, but as much money as we have tied up in these books, they should be aware that we are on top of them and they will be reported. They all should should have a separate server to email there clients when a problem has arisen or at least an operable phone number. I dont think overreacting is something that can happen when that much money is in play. I understand it is an inexact science, but having a couple cell phones or whatever to ease our minds is not asking much i dont think.
