San Antonio Express-News Spurs coverage team, joined by WOAI-TV?s Don Harris, answers a variety of questions in a weekly roundtable. Dominating the discussion is the first meeting of the season between the NBA?s top two teams ? the Warriors and Spurs. The teams play Monday in Oakland.

What excites you the most about the Spurs game at Golden State Monday?

Don Harris: The most exciting aspect of the match-up is that we have two of the greatest teams in NBA regular season history finally going head to head. I think the game will expose the differences in the philosophies i.e.. offense vs. defense and that it will have a playoff atmosphere with the crowd at Oracle Arena.

Melissa Rohlin: The Spurs and the Warriors are shattering records left and right ? they recently broke a record for being the first two NBA teams in history to reach 35 wins through 41 games. They?re both unstoppable at home, and they?ve both won NBA championships in the last two seasons. It can be argued that both the Spurs and the Warriors are even better this season than they were when they won their titles. It should be an exciting matchup to say the least.

Tom Orsborn: What excites me most is that it signals we?re finally into the meat of the schedule. Enough with all the slaughter of the downtrodden ? give us some drama like we had recently with the first Cleveland game. While this showdown isn?t the end-all, be-all contest it?s going to be built up as, it should be an entertaining clash of heavyweights. From a strategy standpoint, it will be interesting to see how Pop utilizes the X-factor, aka Boris Diaw.

Jeff McDonald: I am excited for the extra off day in San Francisco, one of my favorite American eating cities. As for the game itself, I think you guys have covered most of it. It?s the two clear-cut best teams in the NBA ? by far ? going head-to-head for the first time in late January. Though the outcome won?t mean much ? more on that later ? it will be interesting to watch these two teams begin the process of feeling each other out. I?m going to assume that both sides will keep their cards close to their vest, saving a few up their sleeves for a potential Western Conference finals showdown.
