I went with the closed throat and paid extra for natural gut string. If you are a beginner I would consider the Prince or Wilson lines as they use slightly larger grommet holes, allowing the strings more freedom of movement, which ultimately increases the size of the sweet spot.
The beam is your most important factorable decision with squash (especially considering your height and weight). I would NOT go lower than 18 or a 17. Although Momen took the championship in Doha playing with a 15 mm beam!

Doubles squash is super fun, I am guessing nobody on here even knows that sport even exists, but yes there is actually squash where you can play with teams of two. It takes a special court and a different ball from singles squash, but yep it exists.
