What a crock, letting these kids quit. Not only are they doing a huge financial screwing on Dayton and Umass. but they are sending a message to their kids that it is OK to just give up when times go bad.

My response would be to:

A:Fire the atheletic director
B: Fire the coach
C: kick them out of the A 10 conference.
D: cut their balls off, but its obvious that they don't have any.

Well, what are the precedents?

If the typical punishment for this type of thing is simple forfeiture of games (and I always thought it was) then they're sending the message that they won't be pushed around. "You wanna f_uck us over? Well, f_uck you!"

On the other hand, if the typical punishment is not allowing a team to play in the conference tournament even after forfeiture and removing the ineligible player, then the Bonnies aren't justified in suspending the season.

So, since you opened this up, what is it? What's the typical punishment for this kind of thing? Forfeiture of games, or forfeiture combined with removal from the conference tournament.

Seems kind of harsh to me to not let them play in the tourney even after the kid has been removed.

Just a note: St Bonnies is paying Dayton and UMass $$$ to not show up.

It does seem a litte harsh. Maybe next time they won't break the rules. I feel for the other kids how unjustly get punished.
