Matthew Harmon K Ques Wed - Groin - 10/10/07

Anybody know if he is good to go? This game could come down to a FG. I hate getting screwed by a missed FG :cuss:

NAVY - Kicker Matthew Harmon (10/8, groin) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh

Groin injuries not good for anyone much less a kicker. Bullen will probably be the guy. He was kicking for them two weeks ago and cranked out a forty plus.

Much better things to break down in this one than the Matt v Joey issue.

Navy Special Teams vs. Pittsburgh Special Teams

Joey Bullen was one of three on field goals against Air Force. Coach Johnson has opened the window to using both kickers in some capacity. Possibly using Matt Harmon for kickoffs or long field goals.

Returns are OK but not spectacular. We are all still waiting for Reggie Campbell to break a long one.

Unfortunately Greg Veteto had some work against Air Force, but fortunately he responded. Veteto averaged 42.3 yards on his three punts.

Conor Lee is one of the best kickers in the Big East. Lee is 6 of 7 on field goals this season. His 30 points are good enough for second best in the conference. Lee is also riding a streak of 59 consecutive extra points.

Lowell Robinson and T.J. Porter are underrated returners. Porter is averaging 18.8 yards per return while Robinson has a 25.6-yard return average.

Punting duties are handled by Dave Brytus. Brytus transferred for Purdue and is in his first season playing for the Panthers. He is currently averaging 41.6 yards per punt.

Luckily that kick didn't hurt Navy backers... Nice win for the Midshipmen as their schedule isn't too bad the rest of the way... Probably be favored in all, but possibly Wake Forest and maybe Notre Dame.

Yea, you were right. The kicking game never came into play in this one at all. Let me know what more important issues you would like to discuss- starting w/tomorrow night FSU/Wake. I believe I covered the horrendous Pitt coaching and Navy kicker in this forum before kickoff.

I played Under 44 -120 on Thur game fyi.

Good call

Good call

That was a good call on inquiry about kickers. The missed field goal almost played a huge part in the outcome of this one.

Glad to see that it didn't come down to the foot of a kicker on last play.

His last kick was almost blocked, he just made it.

Where does the administrator get his information like the stuff on the special teams?

Thanks for posting

DrFade, if you still believe Cullen/Harper played the most important part in deciding the outcome of this game then youre still looking in the wrong place.

Its appreciated when someone asks for help/info then turns around after the game with quotes only to reply with backhanded compliments. Classy.

Certainly not taking away your rights to be a pompous a$$hole, but I hope at least that you understand thats counterpoint to the purpose of the forum.

I'll take your snide remarks and kindly stay out of any injury or information requests you may have in the future.

Ultimately I suppose the Navy kicker was irrelevant since they won outright. However, he did miss a chip shot right before half and a potential game winner w/5 sec. left. I'm going to assume that the guy that won the starting job is superior to the backup. I didn't think your comment was necesarry:

"Much better things to break down in this one than the Matt v Joey issue"

Obviously that isn't the biggest factor. Water under bridge- remove panties from crack.

I appreciate you allowing me to continue to be a pompous a$$hole. I will exercise that right. What are you playing FSU/Wake if anything? I played Under 44. Good day sir.
