1st off let me say, I'm not a totals player.
so play at your own risk.
the reason is because during the regular season
there is so many games to cap that i don't want to spread myself to thin.
so i only play sides.
since there only 1 game tonite i decided to look at the total.
when i cap sides, i a lot that i use is related to defensive fg% and how teams react to
a strong defensive performance in previous game.
so i general look at a def. fg% under 40%
cleve went off defensively in last game holding atlanta to 37% shooting.
so i went back and looked at how cleve. reacts to a strong defensive game.
there were 16 games this season that cleve held a team under 40% def. fg.
what looks like happens, for our advantage is that cleve shows a pattern of
letting down in the next game defensively.
in those 16 games following the under 40% they gave up an average
of 107 points.....thats 9 points higher than the 98 they average for the year.
in those 16 games 11 of them they gave 100 plus.
adding to give us a double advantage.....
is how atlanta reacts to being held under 40% off fg%
atlanta has shown a pattern that they bounce back offensively.
atlanta had 13 games this year that they were held under 40% off. fg %
in the games following they scored an average of 106 points per game.
this is an increase of 3.5 points per game over there regular season average of 102.5
in 11 of those 13 games they scored 100+ points.
so we have cleveland in a proven defensive letdown spot and atlanta in a proven
offensive bounce back spot.
a double advantage in our favor.
so again i don't do totals,so proceed with caution,
but with total at 197 a 2.5 point drop from 1st game that went under.
im a playing my first total ever.
OVER CLEVE/ATL.
i would like to play atlanta with the points but i just can't find anything strong enough to support the play.
other that cleveland has beaten the 8 straight. and covered 7 of them.
is atlanta due ???
