Anyone who looks at the final score and believes for a minute this was a close game is either a Raven die-hard or is suffering from serious delusions. The Steelers beat the Ravens up on the line of scrimmage; 41:05 time of possession; ran for 158 and threw for 318 on the vaunted "best defense ever". This despite going only 1 for 4 inside the red zone (Baltimore was 3 for 3). Truly great defenses last more than 1 year. As dominating as the 1985 Bear defense was, their defense the next year set the record (at the time) for fewest pts allowed. The Ravens look like they've lost their hunger (except for Siragusa who is always hungry). The Steelers of 2001 look more like the 2000 Ravens than the 2001 Ravens do.

Ravens are hurting because of the lack of a running game. No defense can play effectively when they play for 40 minutes a game. Another problem is that they play Elvis Grbac who has no heart, no vision, no mobility, and no pocket prescence. How is he an NFL Qb, because there's nobody better out there. THis guy will NEVER NEVER EVER WIN A BIG GAME. HE's been a wimp all his life and when Sharpe was trying to rally the team on the sidelines, he's standing alone like a goof. Betting against clowns like Grbac, Collins and Brad JOhnson who are only concerned with banking the money they earn into their savings. I feel these guys couldn't care less about the outcome of the game. They're only in it for the money.

What about the opening 11 minutes of the 3rd quarter? That wasn't Grbac's fault. The Steeler O-line was moving the Raven D-line backwards. Repeatedly and methodically. The Steelers hung up 26 pts and went only 1 for 4 in the red zone. True a ball control offense would help Balt's defense out, but if you're *THAT* great (or supposed to be), you don't give up those time consuming drives. I think Baltimore could really use Priest Holmes right now.

Half of our line is injured. Michael McCrary and Sam Adams, didn't play. Rob Burnett, starting linebacker, has moved up to replace McCrary.

If not for the one big play (90 yard TD pass on 3rd and long) the Ravens might have won the game.

Yea, I'm a fan and yea I'm pissed and the ravens aren't what they were last year. but, we DO have injuries.

Even the vaunted baltimore defense last year with Jamal Lewis would not win this year.

Reason is simple. Here's why Grbac, Collins, and Brad Johnson are playing poorly

Grbac can't throw on the run.

Defensive coordinator rushes 4 linemen and collapses pocket on Grbac.

They have 7 defensive players to stop at most 4 receivers in a pattern.

D coordinators will then use an assortment of zone blitzes to give Grbac different looks, and throw his timing off.

Teams that employed this defense this weekend shut down, Grbac, Collins and B Johnson, they won't move the ball on a good defense, because they're too EASY to defend.
