I could not be more ashamed to be a fan of this team right now.

If Mr. Rooney were still alive you can bet your last dollar this would not be happening. I legit hope they lose to the Bears today as it would restore my faith in Karma.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Pay me the money these "affaleets" are getting, I would wrap my ass in the flag and say..."Thank you Jesus"
its good to be in America.....:0008

Shame on the owners for letting it get to this point...politics has NOTHING to do with sporting events....its all about escapism and time off from the drudgery of everyday life.:toast:

However, there is a league rule, which requires the players to be on the sideline during the national anthem (but does not regulate that they stand, sit, kneel, etc.)

It must just be me because I don't give a flying fuck what anybody does during the NA. My God.

Ultimately I guess I don't either. I'm getting caught up in the "news" and the fact that it's my team.

Hopefully, unlike the Ravens the Steelers at least come out for the game. :0003

Lets just remove it from all sporting events...prob solved.

As long as it is there, the owners have to step up and acknowledge it has deep meaning too many, and millionaire mooks need to respect their paycheck....

Just don't make it a political statement.

How is it going Krapernick? Arena football looking good now?

I love it. Bitching when the "mooks" found a peaceful way to protest.

I know athletes, actors, singers, etc... feel as though they have a platform to push whatever agenda they have, but I really wish it would just go away.

I passed on seeing U2 and Springsteen this year because I'm honestly tired of hearing their political views during the concerts. Shut up and sing the damn songs.

Did not getting my $100/ticket matter in the grand scheme of things? No. Do I wish I would have went? No. If I didn't have to sit through their political views would I have went? Yes.

Much like everything else now days this is more about the "story" than the substance of events. While I could not care less what anyone decides to do in order to peacefully protest, this is simply not the place to do it. I do not say that because of some words and music being played that mean different things to different people, I say that because they are at work. When you are at work it is your responsibility to do things that help your employer not hurt them. The best part is the man that 99% of players would not piss on if he was on fire is actually halfheartedly trying to have their back. Will be interesting to see what all these noble protesters say when their bottom line starts getting impacted like the teams. Respect to Kapernick for being willing to absorb the repercussions, lets see how many others are willing to do the same.

Not if your employer doesn't give a shit or is backing this.

Now I agree that as an employer they have the right to pretty much nip this shit in the bud. But it's not going to happen. Speech has consequences but not if your boss is afraid to do anything.

Maybe you guys should actually ask yourself why they are kneeling instead of whining like a bunch of pussies about the flag. Bunch of snowflakes.
