Donaghy pointed out before game 6 that sending these 3 together was to assure a HOME TEAM GAME 6 WIN.

The same 3 are in LA tonight.

BTW..................ALL POSTED BEFORE GAME 6 STARTED.:0074

No matter who is reffing, the home team is going to win a lot more than they lose. That's just basketball. Actually, that's just sports in general. Homefield/homecourt is much more important than most people realize. I would say baseball has the smallest advantage, but there's still an advantage there, too.

And I'm not saying there isn't anything funny going on with the refs, either; for all I know that could be the case. I just think people often expect the better team to win no matter where the game is, and they completely omit or downplay the home advantage. That's one of the best ways to lose your bankroll, IMO.

I don't understand...so the league sent this particular crew tonight to set it up so that the Lakers will win Game 6? If so, what does that mean for tonight?

Or they will also be sending the same crew out for Game 6? Trying to figure out how this affects handicapping strategy, if at all. Thanks

The same crew Stern sent to BOSTON for game 6 of the ECF is in LA tonight for game 2. This is a very HOME team bias crew with Callahan a 67% home team ref for the entire season.

How many different refs are just in case guys for the Lakers?

Joey Crawford did game 1 and he will resurface when the Lakers need him most.

Like I said in another thread yesterday, it didn't look to me like the refs were trying to give the game to the Lakers. Sure, the Lakers had a lot more free throws, so you could say there was the typical homecourt bias with the refs. But if they were really trying to ensure that the Lakers would win game 2 they never would have called the phantom 4th foul on Kobe. They also probably wouldn't have called the 5th foul either, since Davis was moving forward while Kobe was in the air.

I think if they had an agenda of getting the Lakers a win they would have let him get away with murder, not called fouls on him that didn't happen. I think there was just poor officiating all the way around in that game.

WTF knows what the NBAs agenda is? My guess is we get a split in Boston also.

Well I was replying to this thread that said the agenda was to get the Lakers a win in game 2 by sending certain refs to LA. That obviously didn't happen.

As for the series, there's no doubt in my mind the Lakers win at least one in Boston. Boston's a very good team and homecourt will be big for them, but LA is just too good to lose three in a row there. That isn't happening...

FWIW, these were the same 3 refs that did Game 6 of the ECF in Boston. A game that the Celts won handily.
