Warned Obama 'headed for one-term'...

<IFRAME id=iframe_odiogo_0 height=0 src="" frameBorder=0 width=290 name=iframe_odiogo_0 scrolling=no></IFRAME>
Steve Jobs told President Barack Obama he was ?headed for a one-term presidency,? citing the U.S.?s competitive disadvantages with China and a ?crippled? education system, a new biography of the former Apple CEO indicates.
?You?re headed for a one-term presidency,? Jobs told Obama in a meeting last year where he asserted that the White House needed to be more friendly toward business, according to the Huffington Post, which obtained a copy of Walter Isaacson?s forthcoming book, ?Steve Jobs

Jobs also told Obama that ?regulations and unnecessary costs? put the United States at a competitive disadvantage with China, where companies can build factories more cheaply.

The recently deceased Jobs also told Obama that the education system was ?crippled by union work rules,? according to Isaacson. Jobs proposed principals be able to hire and fire teachers based on merit, and to extend the length of both the school day and academic year.

I'm glad to see you believe in Steve Jobs' wisdom.

"Doing LSD was one of the two or three most important things I have done in my life." And he credited his use of LSD as a major reason for his success.

So, since Jobs is your hero, you'll be wanting to gobble some blotter, right?

Why does it have to be all or nothing?

Seriously?

Why should it be selective? If a noted personality says something uncomplimentary about Obama, doggie quotes Jobs as a source of wisdom.

Why was Jobs right only only about that which fits doggie's agenda?

Why isn't it the other way around, Jobs was wrong about Obama, but right about LSD?

Which way do you want it, is Jobs a wise man to be listened to, or is he a druggie to be ignored?

The Devil can quote scripture. So can doggie, is that what you're saying?

Seriously?

Steve Jobs was a complicated guy, but the LAST thing he was, was a neoconservative party hack that guys like Dogs would like to pretend that he was.

Right on. Jobs was a genius, a free spirit, a drug-experimenter, progressive, and so freaking outright liberal he made Ralph Nader look like a neocon.

Doggie dummie thinks he was a neocon.

Now THAT'S funny.:142smilie

No.

Dogs is NOT saying he was a closet Neo-con.

He was saying that even though Jobs was this:

Jobs was a genius, a free spirit, a drug-experimenter, progressive, and so freaking outright liberal

He said that O was wrong on several things.

You guys are freaking amazing.

Total partisan hacks all around.

Just punch the ticket all the way down on party lines.

Such a waste of fricking time. And we wonder why nothing ever gets down in DC.....

Give it a rest, SSD.

Jobs wasn't saying that "Obama's" wrong on these issues, he was saying that Washington is wrong on these issues. Apple, under Job's watch, has been building iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs, Macbooks, etc. in China since he regained the helm at Apple in the late 90's. So if ANYONE had first-hand knowledge of the competitive disadvantage handcuffing the U.S. with China over the past decade or more, it was Steve Jobs. And he knew that disadvantage existed when he made the decision to begin offshoring those jobs to China years ago, long before Obama's birth certificate was just a glimmer in Skulnik's eyes.

Yeah....right....anyone who tells the truth when it doesn't comport with your agenda is a hack.

I know your agenda: Get the g'mint outta my business....except when g'mint programs benefit Meeeeee. You're just like the Teabaggers -

"Keep your government hands off my Medicare"

I've seen your work: "Horray for the USDA, except when they apply their regs to meeeee."

Get bent.

Regarding Jobs' reference to America's "crippled" education system...

Jobs attended a small liberal-arts college in Oregon for one semester before deciding that college wasn't for him. It only makes sense that an anti-establishment college drop-out like Steve Jobs would believe that America's education system is crippled, and in many ways, I agree with him.

College doesn't foster the kind of risk-taking, entreprenuerial spirit that Steve Jobs embodied. College is the safe route to financial security. At least it used to be when we had a robust, healthy middle-class in America. I have no doubt that Jobs was no fan of unions (for several reasons that should be fairly obvious), but to imply that his motivations were political in any way is transparently opportunistic. Large monolithic corporations and labor unions were simply antithetical to Steve Jobs' "Change the World" mentality.

Whatever, Duff.

I receive very few government benefits. Far less than I pay for.

I have never asked for nor gotten a handout.

Take your soapbox to a different street corner.

Your attacks aimed at me are complete bullshit.

If Jobs was not addressing O, then why did he say he would be a one-term Pres? Was he referring to a different Pres?

Amazing that an inventor and a businessman was, I guess you would say, giving posthumuos advice to Obama, who is anything but a businessman, on things he might try to do to revive the economy and save his Presidency. But, that advice did not follow partisan politic lines and so should be completely disregarded - must have been thoughts induced by an LSD trip or maybe from the chemo.

Serious waste of time and effort in here.

Disagree with R or D in here and get flamed.

SSD, I think you started the verbal jousting by referring to me (and Duff) as a "party-line-ticket-punching hacks". Was that necessary?

But after rereading my first reply, I realized I was wrong when I said that Jobs was not blaming Obama for our competitive disadvantage with China and eastern Asia. There's clearly no doubt Jobs viewed Obama as part of the Washington establishment that just doesn't get it.

Whatever, Duff.

I receive very few government benefits. Far less than I pay for.

I don't know how much you pay, so no dispute there.

However as to receiving very few benefits, hmmmmmm:

Public Schools
Public roads
Law enforcement and fire protection
Safe food and drugs
Insured bank accounts
Old age and survivors insurance
Environmental protections
Strong military
Unemployment insurance
Safe aircraft, cars and trucks
Sewer systems
Flood control
Emergency disaster response

How much would these things cost if you had to pay for them out of pocket, buy them on the open market?

I could care less as to what race or religion Jobs was.

Why is it an issue for you?

As for all those government benefits -

EVERYONE gets those, Duff. Your schtick is getting tired.

I don't get any of those wonderful 'extra' benefits that people get.
