Wall Street capped a volatile week with sharp gains Friday as oil prices tumbled and after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said inflation pressures are likely to moderate. The Dow Jones industrial average rose nearly 200 points.:0corn

I must have missed your in depth economics report on Thursday after oil prices rose $5.62 and the DJIA was flat, and the NASDAQ actually went up. Maybe a 5% increase in oil prices doesn't qualify as a spike.

Talk about telling the whole story? Yes oil did spike about 5 bucks and yes the S and p was flat. That was also in the face of good news concerning the Finacial trade. Under normal conditions, without the spike in oil, The market would have been up 100 points! Look you can try to make the right wing spin that high oil profits are good for your 401K but you can't deny the day after day proof that it is the opposite
