At first glance they appear to favor the Big Ten somewhat, but theres no way you can dispute NW, OSU, and Michigan being tops. On top of how impossible the big ten was this season, all 3 of these teams played an awesome out of conference game. Michigan played ND, OSU played Texas, and NW got socked by ASU early on.

Even Minnesota is top 10, reflecting the difficulty in playing OSU, PSU, Wisky, Iowa, Michigan, WITHOUT playing a tough non conference game. Adding a ASU or Texas to that lineup certainly makes these teams worthy of the top spots IMO.

If theres anything to really take away from the top 3 bowl team Sos belonging to Big Ten teams, it may be that NW's sos may be getting a little more faith in them than they deserve....They certainly played better in the first half of this year, and even THEN ASU really laced into them. In fact, take out the 1 point win over Iowa, a game in which they trailed by 3 scores in the second half, and they really didnt do much in the last 4 games besides beat Illinois. Take that FWIW goin into the game against UCLA..

Steele is a shill blowhard. I give nothing he says any weight. His numbers seems way off from others.

And how is ND 8? They played 3 teams with winning records. Wuld seem just playing USC has it quite skewed.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio. Phil Steele's numbers are garbage.

Let me rephrase. I'm not saying his entire list is accurate. Someone said it was skewed to favor the big ten. I'm saying you can make the case for Michigan and OSU being the top 2 schedules. Do YOU have a replacement team who played a tougher schedule than either of those 2?

I think he has more accurate figures than most--his bowl newlsetter is the best around-a great deal of info to use.

Agreed. Michigan and OSU, with additions of ND and Texas, were tops in the country. Hands down.

I don't really no why USC is at #6, maybe they've played more strong teams than I thought....

The quality of your road games is important. Trojans played AT ASU, ND, OREGON, CAL...plus Fresno and UCLA at home. Oregon and ND are two of the toughest places in college football to play at.
