I don't know what happened but at some point big league batters forgot the fundamentals. When you have two strikes you have to protect the plate. It is absurd how many batters strike out looking. If it is close you have to fight it off. Add to it the fact that batters strike out looking with 2 outs AND runners on base is asinine. Swing the damn bat. And stop looking at the ump like it's his fault. You are the dumb ass that didn't swing at a close pitch. It's 2 strikes, protect the plate.

Padres down 4 in the bottom of the ninth. Man on second and third, 1 out, and he strikes out looking :mj07:

The inability to bring home a run with a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs is what astounds me. I could swear they used to be better, but I haven't seen any studies done.
