I'm going to post my picks this year (at least until it becomes too embarrassing) just to prove to myself, well, something. I usually troll the Sunday lines for Favs that I think arent giving up enough, and usually be Dogs later in the week as the line moves for me.

Sides already taken (Sunday lines):

Vandy -6'
Cal -14
Mizzou -26'
PSU -26' (I regret this one)
Iowa -13'
Southern Cal -10'
So Miss +1'

Also waiting for later better lines on
Arkansas +24 (over Texas)
Ga Tech +7 (over Va Tech)
Tulane +13 (over ECU)
MTSU +16 (over Kentucky)

I think USC will crush OSU, so I'll be taking more of this one - just waiting to see if those OSU backers will move the line a little for me.

I want to bet on Duke over Navy, but I am ashamed of these feelings.

I am also ashamed of wanting to push my luck by betting a second time on Temple (+6 over Buffalo)

Shouldn't the other USC surprise UGA this week? Isn't it time for UGA to begin their fall? I think we've waited long enough. My evil side suspects USC will win outright. I'm heading out to get an Ouija board for consultation.

Final (more or less) Stuck Picks

Final (more or less) Stuck Picks

Barring late movement on a couple of games, below is the final slate for this week:

Vandy -6' (vs Rice)
Cal -14 (@ Maryland)
Mizzou -26' (vs Nevada)
PSU -26' (@ Syracuse)
Iowa -13' (vs Iowa St)
USC -10' (vs Ohio St)
Southern Miss +1' (@Arkansas St)

Ga Tech +7 (@ Va Tech)
USC -10 (vs Ohio St)
South Carolina +7' (vs Georgia)
MTSU +17 (@ Kentucky)

A few comments about these sides taken and some not taken:

Vandy looks pretty good and Rice, well, is Rice.

My position here is that Cal is waiting to lose a game it shouldn't until later in the season when it will hurt them more. Until then and the subsequent complete meltdown, take them in any single/double digit spread. Tread cautiously on triple digit spreads.

Mizzou will play 80 players and score 50.

Until Seneca Wallace comes back, bet against the Cyclones.

USC is, by far, the best team to beat Virginia this year. Given that, they just need to hold on to be crowned. When will the talk start about this being the best team ever and that they could beat some NFL teams? You know it's coming. Regardless of how overhyped they may be (and who knows, they may actually be good, but we'll never know), they're playing Ohio State. And you know about Ohio State in games against real programs (Big 10 excluded for obvious reasons). USC will probably lead by 20+ at some point, though I suspect the final margin will be slightly less.

Georgia is playing South Carolina, and considering UGA will probably lose 3 games this year, now is a good time to start. I'm not quite brave enough to risk my money on a straight up win, but getting a touchdown and hook is just right for me.

MTSU lost to a pretty good Troy team and beat an awful Maryland team. Kentucky is still learning how to play as a favorite, so I doubt that they'll run away with this one. I figure the actual spread will only be about half of this.

The Arkansas/Texas game I had hopes for got cancelled and the Tulane/ECU line seems mired at 13. If it moves to 14, I will likely take Tulane.

I so wanted to bet on Duke this week, but really, wouldn't that just say something about me best left unsaid?

And finally, Michigan at Notre Dame. I passed on this at Michigan +1 and am still passing at Michigan -2. While few things rev me up more than cheering on a Michigan loss, cheering on a Notre Dame loss is one of them. To be honest, these teams have such fundamental problems to overcome, I simply cannot find any way to develop a feel for what is going to happen. I strongly suspect Michigan will have their way with Notre Dame, but I ain't backing that up with a bet.

For those of you with access to NCAA player props, John Parker Wilson is this season's Chris Rix. Fortunes can be made.

One last note, all of these side were taken at one SBR-rated A+ book over the period 9/7-9/11 and all wagers have the same weighting.
