Texas St -2,5 over Coastal ***
on Jan 9th I sat right in row 3 and watched Bobcats win and cover over Coastal this was the game Coach Ellis stopped Pearson the only true scorer for Tx St to a few pts .. Coastal was up by 6-8 pts at the half ..then Ellis is in infinite wisdom went zone and Tx St ran them off the court.. and Pearson only had 17 or 18 pts dominated with his defense,passing rebounds etc...think Kasper will be ready tonite for anything Ellis throws at him..I am going to copy my notes that I am writing as the game goes on... Green nice player that can score and rebound..Jones one of the best pts gds in the conf..6'6 lite skin kid that can drive and pass..Brewton a quick gd that was on Pearson the 1st half..outstanding defensive player and maybe the best player on the team.. had to question the coach after the game on why " we went to zone" Kitenge was the kid that padded all the starters before the game.. Fratter a 6'3 gd that can score.. a lefty with a soft jumper..
no post players inside game weak but Jones with the ball is dangerous... team started pre game with hoods on during warm ups and Kit padded down the entire starters maybe in case someone was carry a knife or gun.. really disrespectful...
Tx state will attack inside the paint..they play pressure defense but Jones is tough to turn over... Pearson who was 2-16 in the 1st half is just begining to get get out of slump.. he will attack,shoot the 3 and rebound.. Coastal avg more pts,FG % better,3FG% better,rebounds better and are at home but Tx St has now has won 6 of last 7 and plays better defense..Coastal gives up almost 80 pts a game...Coastal had lost 4 in a row but won there last game ..
UTA +1 over Appa st ***
Mavs had won 3 or 4 in a row but lost to La Laf .. Appa St defense will have a tough time stopping Azure and warren if he is out of the dog house..
Ga St -4 over Laf Laf **
these guys player each other last month and Panthers won 90-52..Ga St was up
set at home the other day by Troy ..wake up call.. they needed... Ga St leads in blocked shots.steals assists etc
GA southern -6.5 over UL Monroe ***
South has Ike Smith and Jackson..they score almost 2/3 of all there pts...UL defense can't gd either one of them.. UL is last in the conf and last in so many Sun conf categories they have one great solid player in Ertel a lefty gd...stop his shooting and make him go left...Ertel can't do everything...they beat them by 11 the 1t time they played
UAB -7 over Rice **
UAB defense can shut down a weak Owls offense..
North Texas -7.5 over MTenn **
Again Mean green defense should stop MT despite there upset win last week..
UTSA +6 over ODU ** ODU lost to La Tech the other day..they are 9-3 ats at home..even though they are 9-14..but Roadrunners have now lost 2 in a row 3 of 4 last and only win was a last second basket to beat Rice they are 3-5 ats on the road but I''m sticking with my boy Jhivann who is 2nd in the nation in scoring..the problem is this team is so 2 dimensional with Wallace and Jivan and no one else contributes .. it took a few weeks for opposing coaches to figure that out...but I'll grab the 6 pts and just maybe Jhivann hits a 3 from 30 feet out..
