UTA vs Geo St
Before I select the game going through my notes on both teams since I saw them close up vs Tex St..I am going to read my notes they way I wrote them during the game.. I mean no disrespect in my lingo or notes because I have to remember the player and his physical appearance..players numbers mean nothing...I want to remember a player and if his hair stands out that is what I'll remember him by.. its a little profiling but not racial in anyway...hope everyone stands that,
UTA
played man/man about 75% of the time and a 1-2-1-1 full court press and 1-3-1 half court ..the half court surprised Tex and they got at least 2 turnovers..
Warren..a 5'9 gd that can shoot and score..good dribbler...has a beard like James Harden maybe longer and blacker...looks like he is about 35 years old... but he can flat out play and yest had 21 pts
Nauhi a 6'5 freshmen forward looks like Jason{ my asst principal in NY}quick and smooth,,drives to the basket..
Dennis . 6'0.pt gd that had career nite..couldn't miss a shot...of all the many games I saw this year at Texas and Tex St games only Edwards of Purdue scored more or played better...but he didn't do what he did in San Marcus the rest of the year..really good...though..
Ibarguen 6'5 listed at 230 but had to be 250 power fd inside looks like a Def Tackle..
Azore 6'4 gd that can rebound.
Davis 6'3 gd loves to drive to the hoop...
Castro 6'6 fd very active..weighs about 170 pounds... so skinny think he was blown over by a driving player
Narcis 6'9 is skinny and has long longs inseam of blue jeans has to be 44 " { I actually put that BS in my notes }
Ogden Coach I said this last month...he teaches defenses and he shut out Tx St 2 gds ..Nottingham who made 2nd team all Sun took one uncontested shot all game Pearson there best player 1st team All Sun think scored a few points and never ever saw an open 3.. There strategy that games was shout down this 2 and they did.. Best coaching job I have seen all year..and just heard yesterday he was named Sun Coach of the year,,so well deserved.
Ga St
Simonds 6'3 and is outstanding think he has NBA potential ..can shoot,rebound,dribble and has outstanding court awareness..in last nite win over Tex St he had only 9 pts but 5-6 assists...best player in the Sun but not sure who won POY yet..but a head case...he was the one that had a verbal confrontation with the asst and called him out..he refuse to go into the huddle and sat at the end of the bench sulking...was benched after the asst coach told Hunter what had happened..but about 3 minutes later Tex scored a few and Hunter walked over to him and ..not sure what he said but Simonds went back in..
Benlevi 6'6 fd who during warmups was hitting 3's from NBA range...but once the game started he continued those..but needs to be open all were uncontested..
Mitchell 6'4 gd with a 60's fro but can flat out play..was hurt and think it was his 2nd game back,,drives shoots liked him a lot...
Thomas 6'5 was off but looks good..
Hunter plays a match up defense that they are known for ...and the one thing Ga St has over UTA is experience..think Panthers have 4 seniors and there back court is outstanding think Ga St will have trouble with a big front that the Mavs don't have...

After reading my notes half are ??? no post play,player ran into Hunter,Tex crowd was bad,Pearson got a flagrant and ejected after Simonds saying something to him...but my favorite quote was
" Simonds saying to asst coach " I;m tired of your shit" and after asst coach said something back Simonds stood up and walked over to him and said something like " bring it on " waving him to come over and fight...:mj07:
I was having a blast watching this right in front of me...and Hunter the head coach was out in his huddle on the court and had no idea what was happening...
