Nice game by Lester save for that loss B.S.
Knew the Marlins 1st5 was the betterness...what a joke of a pen and even worse defense, this year, from the Fish.
My other losses I deserved (more).

My karma has hit the toilet due to non-betting situationals (again). I did the work--before the hi-test Caribbean rum--but my confidence is shot. Just went through the motions. Who knows...maybe my irrational chagrin will get away with it.

Today's bets are brought to you by the number square.

Phillies -122 2.44/2
reds -111 1.11/1
cardinals -116 1.74/1.5
giants -145 1.45/1
giants -1.5 +115 1/1.15
Dodgers -1 -117 2/1.71
Dodgers -1.5 +136 1/1.36
rays -1.5 +111
chisox@A's un8 -107 1.07/1
bosox@M's un7.5 -108 1.08/1
Rangers -1.5 -114 2.28/2

(see what I mean...totally regressing...where's my copy of Civilization and It's Discontents?)

---Francis has been shit vs in 4 (no'010) and other than his beauty vs the Rox he's been pretty shaky. Colorado's depleted lineup is taking it's toll on them and the Phils are a steal in this situation, at this price, IMO.
---Leake was great in 2 GS vs this season (his only vs's's) while the reds munched Wandy earlier at Great American; he's been pretty good lately--maybe an under but ump Layne is no help--but the Astros brief spurt of production may be over, at least while facing the new Central leaders.
---Carp w/good numbers vs while Dempster is the opposite. stl ain't so hot on the road but they have a major opportunity with the ex-Jay 1st-rounder. Ludwick is back and a couple of rookies are sorta hitting to take some burdenage off of Pujols Hol(l)iday.
---Lincecum has been bouncing back this season from crappy starts and unless Enright is going to go the distance, well, I can't see 'Zona's pen surviving this surging giant.
---Kershaw has been great at D.Stad, and in day games, while Dickey's numbers have been a little wonky in day games his whole career. Lad used most key relievers while the muts held back K-Rod in case of saveage, but I don't think he'll get the opportunity. Hopefully Kersh can go at least 7...he's still without a CG for his 3 season (still only 22, for crying out loud). Ump DeMuth is even but Kershaw seems to be gaining better control as he get...ummm...'older.'
---rays is a stupid play...fade away...Masterson may actually be the better SP. Certainly better sticks with the rays. Fuck 1st5's with 'em, this season--has anybody else noticed how the often the rays get down early and then do most of their scoring late? Wind out to right and Johnson is an overman so neglect the 9 at Obama's peril.
---Oak and Seat unders are silly umpire plays. Hirschbeck (Oak) is worth playing under even if I'm pitching. Estabrook (Seat) is solid U, as well, and these teams ain't scoring much without faux pas from the defense. This could be my last Hudson under ever.
---If the Rangers don't bounce back and annhialate (sic?) the angels then I will be stunned. Hunter has been dynamite while the Bell will toll on the angels playoff prospects...they really must be desperate and would have been better off saving O'Sullivan. ump Gibson will have no mercy on him and I'd play his BB's at (over) innings+0.5 would that I could.

Was just planning on posting the public's but I had a shot or two left.

I might take Monday off unless a miracle occurs...on the diamonds and elsewhere, though Phillies, tigers, Royals and Chisox might eat my coin if the price is deranged.

I am burdened.
Eric Burdon'd.

Those videos and recordings bring back a lot of memories. I'm going to the storage cabinet and pull out my albums. The Stones, Animals, Beatles, Who, and Roky and the 13th Floor Elevators---just to mention a few! Good times. Thanks for the memories.
In Austin back then, we kids had venues like The Vulcan Gas Co., Armadillo World Headquarters, Jade Room, New Orleans Club, Threadgill's, & Sam's Showcase to dance, drink, and hang out.
"Those were the days"-
GL on you selections today--I've got most of those, too! Thanks again, Dog lover.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Sometimes it is just a square day I find.

but I know what you mean. I need to hunt more doggies myself.

You can't go wrong just blindly taking every Estabrook under. You'd be a winner every season!

"Roky and the 13th Floor Elevators"!

That's surprising, then I notice you're in Austin...

My buddy plays in a band there (who's doesn't?). Here's some video I shot of 'em at Threadgill's last year:

Threadgill's new location is nice. Ate at the old original place last week--best (only ?) chicken livers in town! Roky is still alive and kicking. He even played at the half of a UT basketball game two years ago. Shocked me when the announcer said Roky Erickson performing. Didn't know anybody cared anymore. He played solo, and in the vastness of the Superdrum, the acoustics were not the best. But it was great to see and hear him again!
