Nomar and Nixon are missing from the redsox lineup tonight and damon is coming off of a sore hamstring. Pedro was not very effective this spring and talk is that he has lost some off of his usually dominate fastball. Ponson on the hill for the O's tonight and he has not fared well against the Redsox in the past. Baltimore added Lopez,Palmeiro,Tejada in the offseason and should be better at the plate this season. Tough to lay the heavy chalk with Pedro tonight until he proves on the field to be more effective, but think he pitches well tonight , as he will need to quiet the many redsox critics. Also with the holes in the Sox lineup tonight it should help Ponson to be a bit more effective although he is historically up and down. Couple that with the weather in Baltimore which should be cold and may even see some rain/snow. Coming out of the warm atmosphere of the spring into the chill of the Balt winds , could see a lower scoring game so i'll take a shot at the under tonight. Probably wont see the SP's in this one longer than 5/6 innings if the weather is as predicted, and with the RPing on both sides kinda shaky this is a stretch perhaps, but i'll take the early season shot.
