Saw last wk's GTech/UNC game, and that was a scorefest in the 1H. Today's contest should start off as a war in the paint. Rebounds and shots will be contested.

Geez, those Yellowjackets are driving down the lane for layups, thought that the big MD frontcourt would defend the shots a bit better than that. :shrug: Refs, for the most part, are letting them play.

TERPS TEAM TOTAL OVER 41.5 (2nd half) -- Olympic


Maryland shooting less than 33% and STILL managed to score 34 pts. They need to rebound better on the offensive end and lessen the amnt of turnovers. I know Tech is tough at home, but I think the Terps are ready to make a big run in the 2H. Also think that the refs will call a tighter game in the 2H as well.

Terps make the big run and score 50 pts in the 2H! Heck, GTech and the 2H totals went "over" as well. Great game. Congrats to Tech backers. BJ Elder came up big, and frosh sensation Bosh is some kind of talent.

USC leading 45-33 at the half.

After allowing the Runnin' Rebs to get off to a sizzling start (15 pts in the the 1st 5 min), USC's defense clamped down and allowed only 18 the rest of the 1H. Trojans created a bunch of turnovers as expected.....17 TO's, as a matter of fact!

Both UVA and NC State played tight down the stretch, expected of a close, physical game. "UNDER" comes in. Wolfpack manages to score only 2 pts in the last 5 minutes!

The Tigers are a pretty good shooting team, shooting 47% while averaging 71 ppg. I think they will look to run with the Dukies from the start and take advantage of Duke's defensive lapses.

Did I say Clemson would try to take advantage of Duke's defensive lapses? Boy, was I wrong. In one stretch, Clemson went scoreless for nearly 6 minutes. Me thinketh that stinketh, as Alf would say.
