YTD: 55-55-1
A nice 7-3 day yesterday gets me back to .500....basically went from 8 above to 4 below .500 since 2008 began, so perhaps yesterday signalled a turning of the corner.....still seven weeks of the regular season left before conference tourney week, so lets chip in and win some dough this winter.
UCONN ML, -140 over Marquette. If you like to use trends as a handicapping method, you wont find much to support either club. Marquette is 2-8 ATS on the road, while the Uconn ia 8-17 ATS vs the Big East and 7-20 ATS overall. Nevertheless, I am siding with the Huskies to get an important home court win this afternoon. First, I am sticking with the short home favorite theory here in the Big East. Thus far in big east play, the home teamss have been laying it to the road teams in most of the bigger matchups for the season. Marquette, as an example, has already been slapped around by WVA and Louisville in their road showdowns this month. But I also like Uconn today because frankly they have to have a sense of urgency to get this win today, or else their season may just spin out of control for the second straight year. After being upset by Providence this past week, Uconn is staring at a possible five-game losing streak if they drop this one today with road titls at Cincy and at IU coming up this week. Calhoun knows the score, knows he needs to get a resume win and knows the damage today that a loss can do. Just feel that with their backs to the wall, the Huskies come out strong today, get a big win and keep Marquette's road woes going.
Good luck!!!
