Super 12 final:

Haven't seen a spread line yet for this game between the ACT Brumbies and the Sharks. Most books have the Brumbies at $1.22 at the ML yet the ML isn't always an accurate guide for a points start. The Brumbies were, from memory, at more lucrative (for heavy chalk bettors) odds v the Chiefs and the Reds in the previous two weekends and the spread for both games was -8.5. I envisage the spread for this final being around -6.5.
The Brumbies played an interesting mind game today when naming Owen Finnegan in their squad. The rampaging blindside flanker has been suspended for 5 weeks but the Brumbies are appealing that ruling tomorrow (Thurs). Centre and first-choice goalkicker Stirling Mortlock is definitely out with an injured shoulder.
Former Queensland rugby league player Peter Ryan is the most likely replacement for Finegan, while Des Tuiavii and Radike Samo have been named in the squad. James Holbeck is the frontrunner to replace Mortlock while Andrew Walker will assume the goal-kicking role.
ACT squad: Mark Bartholomeusz, Graeme Bond, Ben Darwin, Owen Finegan, David Giffin, George Gregan, Travis Hall, Justin Harrison, James Holbeck, Rod Kafer, Stephen Larkham, Craig McMullen, Tom Murphy, Jeremy Paul, David Pusey, Joe Roff, Peter Ryan, Radike Samo, George Smith, Des Tuiavii, Daniel Vickerman, Andrew Walker, Matthew Weaver, Joel Wilson, Jim Williams, Bill Young.

I see spreads of -9? -115 at Direcbet and -10? at Mega$ports.

A friend had two spare tickets to the semi. Atmosphere was awesome! I felt a little guilty seeing my brother's mates had lined up for tickets at 6am during a weekday only to be denied!?

But the odds of me seeing the final live are No -800, Yes +320 (TAB odds)

Gotta be tempted by that at this stage, more homework still required. Guess you can testify to the Bruce Stadium cauldron then.

just as ships are referred to as being female, in Australia sporting fields are thought of as male and are named as such, Bruce Stadium, Wayne Oval, The Darren Arena, Barry Field etc

Seeing I can't go to the Brumbies at Bruce i'll probably watch the Raiders at Manuka Oval (i can't imagine what strange and exotic place a name like that would come from)
