Hurricanes vs Sharks

The Hurricanes main concerns are All Blacks Tana Umaga, and Christian Cullen. The Sharks are dealt a big blow with the loss of Springbok Andre Snyman who damaged a hamstring in the loss against the Brumbies.
The Hurricanes have struggled to find any sort of consistency. Hammered by the Blues and the Stormers, their only win came against an extremely poor Bulls outfit. The Sharks are yet to win this season, despite playing well against the Brumbies.

An extremely tough one to call this. The bookies offer the Sharks a small start with anything up to four points on offer. Looking through the Hurricanes line up, especially their backline, it would inspire a confident selection on the Hurricanes. However they seem completely dis-interested in the competition, and show a complete lack of respect for one of the worlds premier competitions. The Sharks on the other hand do not lack commitment, but are without the class of the Hurricanes backs. If the Sharks target the Hurricanes pack, and keep Lomu and co quiet, then there is no reason why they cannot win here. However, there is also no reason why Lomu, Cullen and Umaga begin to become interested. An absolute no play with a lean towards neither side!

NO PLAY :nono:

WARATAHS vs CATS

The Waratahs have only one injury concern, and that is to prop Patricio Noriega who has suffered rib damage. The Cats have lost superb centre Gcobani Bobo for the season, and if this wasnt enough, they have concerns for this game over Dean Hall, Louis Koen and prop Willie Meyer.
The Waratahs who normally cannot win away from home, have stormed onto the scene this season, with three away wins including a fifty point drubbing at the Bulls. The Cats however, have been hammered away conceding over a hundred points, and their only victory came against the hopeless Bulls outfit.

The handicap offers the away team over a twenty point start. The Waratahs are really the team of the moment and have an excellent chance of reaching the semis this year if they can continue with this form. Scoring heavily away from home, is not like the Waratahs who normally keep all their form for their home ties. If they can now blitz teams away from home, then I am really looking forward to seeing them at home. With Matt Burke playing like a world class player at centre, they can really put the Cats, who are without any major faces, to the sword here.

1 POINT WIN- WARATAHS (-23) at 5/6 with SURREYSPORTS ;)

BULLS vs ACT BRUMBIES

The Bulls leave centre Adrian Jacob on the bench after his transfer request was turned down by the South Africans. The Brumbies welcome back Andrew Walker who missed the last game, and now have former Wallaby centre James Holbeck available for selection again.
The Bulls have confirmed their status as the worst Super 12 team in the competition and prop up the table. The Brumbies open with three simple home wins against potentially tough opposition.

Can anybody stop the Brumbies?? I do think they will get beaten this season but certainly not against teams like the Bulls. There is class throughout the whole squad of the Brumbies, and the hapless Bulls have not got any players who can stop them storming to a fourth successive victory. Although we have not seen the Brumbies on the road yet this season, this is a must play with the Brumbies covering the handicap comfortably.

2 POINTS WIN-BRUMBIES (-25) at 5/6 with CORAL EUROBET ;)

Just one play for me this week - and oddly enough I'm in agreement once more!

NSW Waratahs (-23) 5/6 Surrey Sp. 3pts
+ it's on live here so I can have the single this time!!

The Brumbies beat the Cats by 48 on home soil, I have the Waratahs rated within a couple of points of the Brumbies at present so I'm pretty happy with conceding in the mid 20's.

Would have to agree with Brumbies call v Bulls but it's a lot of points to give away from home so I'll swerve. Have a slight feeling for Stormers off scratch, + no idea which way Reds/Crusaders game will go!

Season so far 3/0 + 8.64 pts

Best of luck to all

REDS vs CRUSADERS

The Reds begin the game at full strength, and start with the same team that beat the Chiefs. All Black Scott Robertson misses the game for the Crusaders, but apart from that are able to field a full strength team.
The Reds beat the Cheifs last week, while Crusaders were very impressive in comfortably running out winners over the Auckland Blues.

You only have to look at the Reds backline to see why they have started so well. Ben Tune, Wendall Sailor are deadly finishers, while up front they have the power of Kefu and Matt Cockbain. This then is surely enough to see off the Crusaders with home advantage? If they can maintain some sort of discipline, they will win. But giving away too many penalties will gift the match to the deadly Andrew Mehrtens. However, take the Reds to win by about 10-15 points.

1 POINT WIN REDS (SCRATCH) at 5/6 with CORAL EUROBET ;)

Hey Crook-man

A bit slow on the final update this week mate, I wonder why!!
No offense but how can you consider yourself an expert on something you cannot even watch. From my experience the UK only gets one live Super 12 game a week.

At least Anders lives in the the land of rugby, where all games are shown live and the media eat, sleep and drink rugby. Stick to what you know best mate, UK sports.

Beginners luck is a phenomen of gambling.

Who said I considered myself an expert?? I post my picks up here, and if anybody wants to read them, then fine!! If you actually knew anything about rugby, you would know that the Welsh are more passionate about their rugby, than any other nation in the world....Just ask Graham Henry!!

As for the live games, yes we get one game a week broadcast live, but get highlights of all the other games. Ask Anders if he gets live coverage of all the Premiership football games he posts picks on....I doubt it!! In my opinion you need not watch ANY live games to be a successful in betting on the sport. With a good knowledge of rugby, and a lot of research involved, it is possible to make profit!

It seems that there are always people browsing forums, waiting for people to fall flat on their ass! This is unfortunate as I would consider myself to have provided people reading this forum, with a good level of profit so far. I look back and fail to see you with any comments congratulating me on the last few weeks! If you are browsing this forum, just to make insulting comments when I lose, then please dont visit in future!

Rest assured to any who do bet my picks, I will be working twice as hard next week, to prove people like efgee wrong!! ;)

PS Reason for the late update is that Super 12 finished on Sunday this week, and I work Sundays. Hence the late update!

Here it is especially for efgee!!

Here it is especially for efgee!!

WEEK RESULTS :

PICKS : 0/2 + ONE TIE

WEEK PROFIT/LOSS : -3 POINTS (?300 CALCULATED TO A ?100 UNIT STAKE)

SEASON RECORD TO DATE :

PICKS : 7/10 (70%) PLUS ONE TIE

SEASON PROFIT/LOSS : +3.61 POINTS (?361 CALCULATED TO A ?100 UNIT STAKE)

:director: ...A very disappointing week!! At least it keeps the likes of efgee happy! The Bulls were very surprising in holding the Brumbies to ten points. I, like most expected the Brumbies to win by about 40+ points. The Waratahs won as expected, but could not quite get the point needed to cover the handicap, whilst the Reds unexpectedly went down to an impressive Crusaders outfit.
I still show a healthy profit for the season, and I am happy with the 70% success rate on my picks. However I will be putting in twice the amount of work next week to ensure that this improves!!
Comments are always welcome.....:)

Hey Crook

Good to see you are going to put in more effort this week. Gary Player always said, "The harder I work, the luckier I get."

Crook, you will not make money punting on sports you cannot watch. Unfortunately you will learn the hard way. Fortunately you are young and have time on your side. It would be sad if your money went the same way as the mugs who come into your Betting Shop.

hey guys :

Give crookycymru a break, OK?

so what if he doesn't watch the games on TV???

I hadn't watched any AFL games on TV last season and I went 41-14 on AFL ML picks...

and you know what? I'm gonna try and do better this season...

why? because we got guys in here who HELP each other out with information, and that DON'T bash some guy's picks.
we have our good weeks and our bad weeks....what would you be saying if crookycymru went on a hot streak....???

nothing much, i'd assume.

0/1 this weekend (A Handicap tie - how annoying is that!! especially after a play on + a revert to the video ref!! )

Season 3/1 +5.34 pts

Apologies for late post - nothing to hide just been away (post Cheltenham Festival - needing a rest!;) )

To chip in on the above debate - as a fellow Brit - to say we can't follow the game because it's not all shown live is crap - there are plenty of highlights shown here plus a variety of web sites giving full detailed reports on each match. The lengths to which Crooky and Anders go to post detailed match previews on each game should be applauded, especially from those who just want an educated view to help them bet - I don't have time to write such previews - I handicap the matches myself + post accordingly.

I should add I speak (write?) as a successful gambling/industry professional who does make it pay, honest! . However I feel there is more $$ to be made in the UK at Super 12 because our odds compilers aren't very good at it!! Therefore I post + read here to educate myself further + develop my own views. I also note that just about everyone who posts here on Super12 is winning so non-doubters must be filling their boots!!

:D :D
