Just a week ago, I vowed not to place another bet on this tournament again this season. What I considered to be some strong bets over the course of the season have been victim to some strange change in form. The tournament is so good, it is easy to watch a game without having to have a bet on it, but I will resist this week, in the hope of buying what looks like a straight forward double.
TotalBet have tempted me with some attractive 80 minute prices, which if go as I expect them to, should win without too much bother.
Crusaders vs Hurricanes
The Crusaders seem to be playing their way into form bang at the right time. Past masters in winning at this stage of the tournament, they should have too much for a Hurricanes team that has surpassed expectations this season. Admittedly, the Hurricanes have some dangerous backs, but at forwards, it is a total mismatch, and the Hurricanes will find it hard winning in Christchurch.
Blues vs Brumbies
How can you oppose a team who has won all six matches at home and has virtually looked unbeatable. Only the Sharks managed to ruffle a few feathers in Auckland, and this was due to some effective spoiling tactics, together with bad weather conditions. The Blues still had too much. It is hard to fancy the Brumbies coming close to the Blues. They have already been beaten by 26 points to the same opposition, and any hope that the Brumbies of old were back, was thwarted last week when being beaten by the Crusaders in fortress Canberra.
4 Point Double Crusaders (1/3) and Blues (1/4) at 1.67 with TotalBet
