Good luck Ray. I liked Mason a lot last year for many reasons including a couple of close ties to the team. Just got off the phone though, and due to academic reasons as well as injuries, Mason only had 7 and perhaps 6 scholorship guys suiting up tonight.
I think Larranga is a great coach, but I dont know what he can do given that. Good luck tonight.

Mason update:
Jesse Young and Larranga will play tonight.
Other than that they are counting on walk ons and reserves to play tonight. SG and PF freshman standouts from last year both academically inelligible for the first semester. Stud juco transfer they got last year has a heart condition and wont play again. Team seems down tonight.
Mason is one of the few small schools I follow and play regularly, but this game is a no play for me. They may win anyway but I am going to see how they come out the first couple.

Without their stars available this semester, I feel you are going to see a lot of that out of Mason until they come back in January. Jesse just cannot shoulder this team by himself.
