Guys,

Now that majority of the money is in, (Hogman14?)...

I want to propose an idea that I got from Brian (JR11).

Currently, 1 to 4 players of the contest will win on Superbowl Sunday a purse of $5k.

Usually after the numbers are drawn, there is a couple gripes about someone getting 2 and 5 or posts of "not a chance in hell."

I was one of them last year, I feel your pain.

I propose that based on the numbers drawn for the Superbowl squares, we have 4 nights of a lottery to win a $100 each night. This would decrease each quarter, half, or game winner $100.

Using the AFC number for the first drawn ball in the Georgia Fantasy Five and the NFC number for the last (fifth) ball drawn, the matching square would win a $100.

Basically we increase the number of chances, and increase the days of excitement.

There is a poll for yes or no.

Please only vote if you are in the contest.

Majority of those who participate in poll will decide, unless there is a complete meltdown...

Just trying to make it more enjoyable for everyone.

The only reason why I put this in my $100 block pool (by the way I have 7 blocks left) is to give someone an extra chance to win something. To me, I would rather make it half and final winning a bigger purse, but most of my guys with many from here at MJs like to have multiple chances to win something so I added that in and even if you get bad numbers it gives you a chance with the lottery.

Unlike the $100 block I do for the NCAA Mens Brackets where really there are no bad numbers, in football a 2 5 and 9 are not good. So I did the last digit of the 3 digit daily number (AFC) and last digit of the big four (NFC) in the night drawing would win $500 on Monday and Tuesday. So as an example, the lottery numbers are 132 and 6789 whoever has 2 for the AFC team and 9 for the NFC team would win the $500.

I've got at least two dozen guys that want into your March Madness contest.

Thanks for the idea.

I'll take one of the squares.

Email coming shortly.

I do the NCAA Brackets via CBS Sports which is $20 per entry and I usually get around 200 top 5 spots place, and then on my block which fills up immediately goes like this, $100 per block....

The ROW will be titled WINNER, and the COLUMN titled LOSER, so you are not rooting for a team just a score or your numbers....

Starting with the final 8 (2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday), payout $500 apiece. Again as an example the FINAL score is 76-72 of game one whoever has 6 for the WINNER and 2 for the LOSER wins the $$, out of the pot goes $2000 on this round.

Final Four, 2 games, $500 for half and $1000 for final for each game, out of the pot goes $3000.

Final Game, $2000 for half and $3000 for final. Sometimes over the years I kept out a $100 to have a lunch drawing on this for those local and who can attend, usually ends up costing more so I lose on this but no biggie.

I have no problem filling the latter up and not many people are doing block pools for the NCAA Mens Brackets unlike the SB.

I'd rather not but it's just me. I think 100$ investment to win 1k is worth it.

That's the whole point, there can't be great numbers for everyone.

But I'm in with the majority of course.

B,

Email sent. :toast:

Available numbers sent back to you in an email. As I stated, I have about 12 in from my Wednesday night bowling league, so I will let any 2 of them draw the numbers with the rest of us witnesses, this keep me out of it and I will let you know who did it. Taking place February 2 and from there an email back to all with the final board.

Just shoot me back an email with where you want to be placed on the board with what is remaining.

On the course!
IMO, the money should be paid out on the "Super Bowl"!

You want to have more winners? Pay right way/wrong way.

Everyone sent their money in knowing they could get 9-9.

If I get shit on.......what else is new?

Looks like we'll be sticking with the original payouts.

Thank you to everyone who gave input.

9-7 yes

I thought it would be unanimous... and it has been brought to my attention that changing the payout structure AFTER receiving the money is in poor form for those that don't wish to have a lottery.

That being stated, 100% agreed to the pool w/ no lottery so you see the dilemma. :0008
