I don't see how it would differ from being anybody to take a team to the super bowl. This is actually a good topic as it speaks to the racial intolerism supported by those that feel they have "suffered" at the hands of the white man. I would hazard to say that absolutely noone on this forum personally knows or knows of any black person alive that has truly felt the sting of slavery. I am not denying its existence nor the morality behind the issue. My problem is that the whole "deliver us from this persecution" is crap. I would like to be the first white comedian to do an hour of stand up on how much better whites are than blacks. How far would I get with that. Maybe start a White Entertainment Network. A clothing line for whites only. How long would the picket line be for those? Wonder if Al Sharpton would chime in. Do you think Martin Lawrence (and the "T" isn't silent) would come to my show and laugh his ass off when I made a joke about how stupid black people are compared to white? But this topic is not germane to the battle of the races.........the same arguments hold true for many other of the idiotic battle cries of the past. ERA and womens rights is a joke. Equal pay for equal work DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period. (Not meant to be a pun but turned out to be). Women dont want their sex to be used against them but if it works to their advantage then thats alright. I am sure their are plenty of VERY capable meteorologists that could give you a weather report on NFL sunday but thats not the case is it.........no julie Barbieri is doing it. Womens physical requirements in the military are not nearly as stringent yet they get equal pay and promoted at a much faster rate.
The truth is, Donovan is a black man. He has many physical gifts, but there are many white people on the team also and when you spend 20-30 minutes putting on your bling bling prior to the post game conference and only socialize with the darker members of your team then you will only reap the respect of those teammates that understand that attitude. However if you put the team ahead of your personal appearances and outward frivolities you will have the respect of all your teammates. Think to yourself who the players in the NFL respect more and why. Do you think anyone really looks up to Randy Moss? Pat Tillman died in Iraq and Nate Newton got caught with hundreds of pounds of pot. But it sure is funny when Chris Rock, Mar(silent T)in Lawrence, Steve Harvey, Chris Tucker, the guy who played undercover brother, The Wayans Brothers, Jamie Foxx, Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and every single black entertainer makes fun of us dumb ole crackers isn't it? Yea I always get a deep belly laugh from the same worn out old shtick. Tell me why there are not any late night talk show hosts other than a short stint by Chris Rock on HBO? It takes more than the old "you ever notice how white people act all" joke to produce a good show (see Arsenio Hall show flameout)................yada yada yada. To have a talk show, you can't have Neon Deion on every night and "axe him questions playa". I know this all sounds very callous, bigoted, and racially intolerant, but nothing could be farther from the truth. It is quite simply the truth and we all know it. There is not a white man on earth that could make a career out of making fun of another race but Hughley and the other guy made a movie out of portraying white chicks for chrissakes and how dumb they were. Give me a friggin break. You want equality....then quit axing for special treatment, i.e. affirmative action. You want people to quit pointing out that "that black man is so well spoken", then practice good grammar and pronunciation across the board! Quit looking for ways to put a black stamp on everything, and you won't be stamped with the race card. The biggest travesty of the Rodney King case was not the riots of Los Angeles but that people of an educated generation thought that they were within their rights to do such a thing. Three black men pulled an innocent man out of his truck and almost beat him to death with a brick and were acquitted of all wrong doing and you have the nerve to holler racism to me!?!?!?!?!
Tom Brady is more intelligent than McNabb, which is why he is the superior quarterback, its really quite simple. Randy Moss and Ray Lewis may be Rhodes Scholars but as long as they act like street running pimps they will always be considered street smart and book stupid and that is unfortunate.
Don't get me wrong we have some very stupid white people also that I think dumb down everything around them.........Vanilla Ice comes to mind.
