We've had a great thread over the last few years for Survivor Pool contestants. Looking to start another good season hee.

I actually think Week 1 looks pretty tough in that there are no real good plays that stand out. I'm leaning towards Seattle although Minnesota is also a consideration. Thoughts?

Jax and Seatle are the ones that stick out but I am
thinking Houston might be a good one and save
the better teams for later

everytime i try that i get burned. not sophisticated enough to see down the road.

Played a pool once where you not only couldn't pick the same winner twice, but also couldn't pick the same loser twice. That was pretty fun - the winner only made it thru 5 weeks. We were able to run the pool 3 teams in one season.

That is the way i play kramer but here is my problem. On two different occasions it was me an another guy and i had all my cannons left and he had shitholes. I refuse to split the pot and lost both times :mj07: Next time i will take the money.

I went back last year to see what week it was i lost. (13) I knew i had the superbowl champs(Indy) and the other guy had Houston. I got beat by Tenn and he won :mj07: I remember i had the bears and chargers to and i couldn't use the bears cause they were playing NE and the Chargers i think i was setting up for the next week. Still can't believe i lost.

Good to see you fellas here for another run at these pools

Did anyone here win anything last year ? I bowed out in Week 7 when Seattle lost against the Vikings, at home no less. Regardless, it was one hell of a year for the dogs.

For Week 1 I am looking at the following matchups, with the bolded teams the one I am considering.

Tampa Bay @ Seattle
New York Giants @ Dallas
Miami @ Washington

Good luck to all and surviving we shall!

I am in a couple of Pools where you have to pick 2 teams depending on how many entries there are after certain weeks. Tough as hell but that's where the big dough is!!

Currently, I am leaning Houston over KC.

Also considering:
Dallas
Minnesota
Oakland

I agree that this week is relatively tough so I think it's a good idea to take a shot with one of the games above. Obviously Dallas is the best of those teams so I am leaning to the others. All are home with good shots at winning. Oakland really scares me but they should be greatly improved now that Art Shell is no longer the coach. Although I think Atlanta stinks, Minny scares me mostly because of Tavaris Jackson but I think they are going to run all over the Falcons and the defense should be able to contain a weak Falcon offense.

Most years week 1 home teams run 65-70%.

But this year, many of the obvious picks are road teams.

i'm looking at Den, N.E., and Pit. which
start on the road.

Sea is always tough at home and they look good vs TB.

Shit, I am in a pool that is 50 bucks and got 1500 people. Winner takes all. If it lasts all 17 weeks, they have a tiebreaker on a certain game. W/ all the parity it is alot harder then I ever thought. 2seasons ago, I was out in week 4.

I am on one this year. Never played it before but my son convinced me to join. His step brother took home 17k last year.

I am thinking of taking the strong teams in the beginning (if I make it past week 1) and then hope to catch a break on a weaker teams losing streak later in the season.

The first couple years I played, I always took a weak team trying to get ahead and lost. IMO, I am taking strong stuff early and wrry about the weak teams late!! GL :SIB

Same here, learned that lesson the hard way for a few years.

Trying to go strong from the start and just worry about it as a progress.

Too bad I can't figure out who is a "strong" team this week.
