2;20 am EST start:

I received some excellent info from my good man, PG who really follows the game. I did not see him post it here (forgive me if this has already been done). He sent me this in the afternoon, and I got it at -110 at Millenium.

SWEDEN TO WIN (versus Senegal) -110 ($1100/1000)

There is a half-goal wager available, but you have to lay -120 on that. So the moneyline bet is much better.

Here is the info:

_____________________

According to the latest news regarding the teams.. Senegal has big problems with injured players and also have 2 of their best players suspended for the match... Read the news regarding this match below and see for yourself..

Best regards,

PG

SWEDEN Goalkeeper Hedman and Arsenal's attacking midfielder Freddie
Ljungberg are both likely to figure in the starting eleven despite the fact
neither are actually fit. Hedman picked up an injury in the 1-1 draw with
Argentina, while Ljungberg missed that game after giving in to the
deteriorating condition of a hip injury, but both believe they will be able
to figure against Senegal.

Ljungberg would come in for Magnus Svensson and the remainder of the side is
likely to be unchanged. Patrik Andersson has now been ruled out of the
competition so Jakobsson and Mjallby will have the prime responsibility of
looking after El Hadji Diouf

SENEGAL A selection crisis has arisen for coach Metsu who could face
Sweden without four of the team that defeated France in the opening game of
the tournament.

Definitely out are the suspended pair Salif Diao and Khalilou Fadiga, both
were influential characters in the midfield, Diao sits out the last of a two
game ban awarded for his 'red' against Denmark while Fadiga picked up his
second caution in the dramatic 3-3 draw with Uruguay.

On top of these troubles, dreadlocked right-back Ferdinand Coly is very
doubtful with a knee injury, captain Aliou Cisse is again facing a battle to
recover in time after aggravating a calf injury picked up in the opening
game, and reserve winger Souleymane Camara is also struggling to be fit and
is deemed unlikely to feature.

Habib Beye would fill in at right back for Coly, Moussa Ndiaye would cover a
wide midfield position vacated by Fadiga, Ndour will stand in for Diao while
Amdy Faye or Makhtar Ndiaye would be selected if skipper Aliou Cisse fails to
make the game.

Bouba Diop and Henri Camara would be expected to break forward in support of
lone striker Diouf a tactic that has served the Senegalese well so far in the
competition.

SWEDEN (proabale):
Hedman
Mellberg, Jakobsson, Mjallby, Lucic
Alexandersson, Linderoth, A.Svensson, Ljungberg
Allback, Larsson

SENEGAL (probable):
Sylva
Coly (or Beye), Diatta, P M Diop, Daf
H Camara, P B Diop, Cisse, Ndour, M.Ndiaye
Diouf

Thanks for the info, just wondering why didn't you play anywhere else to get better value on Sweden +120 at most places.

A: Becasue at the three books I use that was the best line available to me. I'm sure there are better prices if you have access to more books.

Looked like it was going to be a complete runaway when the Swedes went up 1-0 into the 11th minute. Then, the jerks lapsed into a defensive shell and allowed Senegalese 9 shots on goal abd two nade goals (one called back). Swedes look spent and Sensgal is playing the game of their lives, especially with those starters out (4 players off the starting squad). This is not looking good.

oh dear.....sweden had a chance to put this game away...now we go to sudden death....Iam getting a little nervous here...hopefully Sweden can use that darn talent they got and use it...rather then blowing golden chances....If Sweden never adjusted there defense to Senegals speed...we would of lost....good news for us though with Pape Malick Diop out of the game...he has excellent footwork...

Lets hope Sweden can put this away..I'd hate to lose on penalty kicks...

Ah well, not the result we were both looking for Nolan :(

But I'm sure u will all agree it has been a game worth staying up for in the US. The next period promises to be just as enticing...

Couple of notes:

Both Cisse and Coly started for Senegal. Seems the World Cup injury reports are as reliable as the NFL's

And Ljungberg, who was expected to start, is watching from the stands. :(

Also: While El Hadji Diouf is a superb player, he really does blot his copybook by being a cheating little fugger

Sweden had at least 3 clean chances to score, and failed to put the game away. I was just waiting for the damned counter straight up the middle, and boom... except this one hits the INSIDE of the post and trickles through.

Not that I had Sweden to advance or anything

This is getting absurd... so far 0 for the 2nd round. I'd advise all punters to invest heavily in Ireland +0.5.

btw Jedi Capper - the wager was lost after 90 mins if you bet on Sweden. Almost all soccer plays, even for matches that have extra-time, golden goals and pens, are still offered wager-wise with W, L or D after 90 mins.

Great goal to win it :)

You could make a decent argument for either side deserving to win this match - that's how hard trying to pick a winner at this tournament is. And I thought the first round was tough

Disappointing to see Sweden give up a 1-0 lead but Senegal really did deserve to win.

I was surprised to see Cisse and Coly playing but as Anders said it looks like the injury reports are not very reliable.

Next match for Senegal is against the winner of Japan/Turkey and you would have to give them a realistic chance of advancing to the semi finals.
