I'm following some in-house smart-guy picks, specifically bigkyle, Clem, and KaYaS.
My big bet is coating kyle, pushing line 1.5 against me to get odds on:
1000/1010 Golden State 188 O +101
To cover my parlay (I hope), I bet
800/380 Maryland ML -210
Betting favorites on the moneyline requires very careful selection. It's probably the easiest way to go broke in a hurry, although, paradoxically, it seems the safest way to bet.
I'm coating Clem on that one. The line was at 4.5 when I finally got to it, and I don't want any part of the worst line on what I assume is an ESPN national game, as these things have an uncanny way of ending a half point from what you want. Clem's often right, and I'm betting he's correct on Maryland winning tonight.
For the fun, I'm playing a parlay. My hope is that Md wins and GS flies over. That way I'm up a k and can enjoy my lottery-ticket-that's-much-likelier-than-a-real-lottery-ticket.
7-team parlay: 400 to win 102,239
Maryland ML -205
Drexler +8
TenTech -1.5 -120
Cle ML +275
198 U
GS ML +260
186.5 O
It would be too boring to calculate the odds, but I figure as long as I'm generally winning, and I'm following the smartest guys, and they're allowing one to bet on side and total in same game, well, perhaps those small advantages will add up to a big win!
