SU +1 at Villanova

* Shumpert off another terriable shooting game. had a open 3 with a minute left and down by two to GT on Sunday and air balled it. His eye is giving him alot of problems.

* Williams was horrible shooting also but his whole game was missing. Throwing ball away, not active on defense...usually a good home shooter and bad on the road.

* Duany broke his nose in 1st half and as not a factr in the game. Will play tonite with a face mask. He is already complaining about how ncomfortable it is.

* Freshman Forth and Theus led the comeback vs. GT. Theus started shooting the ball and hit back to back threes in 2nd half to spur rally. Forth's points mainly came on put backs but did hit a pair of jumpers in the lane.

*Freshman Warrick will have over 200 supportes in gym tonite. Comes from Philly high school. Will probably try and do too much to impress friends in crowd.

* mcNeil played alot of minutes and played well in the middle. Just don't throw him a pass. That is one ugly thing to watch.

Could see up to four freshman on the court for Orange tonite if Duany uneffective. On the road that spells trouble. Unless Shumpert finds his shooting eye, Williams will try to carry the team on the offensive end. He is just too inconsistent to be relied on for that.

Villanova has played everyone tough recently with home wins over GT and UCLA. No reason they can't stick with SU in this one and steal it at the end.

Shumpert and Williams go 11-41 from the field and 3 -18 from 3 point land. I'll say it again, Shumpert's eye is worse then they are saying. Definitely having problems with depth perception. Williams is forcing knowing that he has to pick up the slack. This team is in trouble!

If only five from BE go to the dance, SU must win vs. BC this Sunday or win a game in tournament.

Pitt, UConn and Miami are in. SU, ND, STJ, GT, BC and Rutgers are all bubble teams. Rutgers ( loss to VT the other day killed them) and GT will have to win the tournament to get in IMHO. STJ has been playing the best down the stretch.

Should be a great tournament. Wish I was going this year! Did get some nice seats for the Sweet 16 in SU this year though.
