I have seen alot of comments that SU is unmotivated since they did not make NCAA's. I disagree
SU has only one senior on squad, Shumpert, who is a gamer. he always gives a honest effort. rest of squad is underclassmen.
Su has a great recruiting class coming in and PG Edilen is returning supposedly from a suspension next year. Rest of these underclassmen, i.e, Pace, Warrick, Faust, McNeil ( who may or may not be staying) are all auditioning for minutes next year now!. Boeheim will not put up with anything less then a good effort from these guys. Even when SU slumped, they never lacked in hustle and desire. they gave the effort, it was that they could not shoot and got outmanned in the middle.
Someone brought up the tank job that SU pulled in the NIT a few years back against FLa. St. That was a different situation. They went from the title game the previous year to the NIT and the seniors did not care to show up for the NIT. This is different.
No way that anyone one should use being"unmotivated" as a handicapping stategy in this game IMHO. SU will put out the effort. If Butler wins it will be because they dominate a soft inside of SU and are more physical.
Remember, the dome is a bastard of a place to shoot in for visiting teams who are not use to playing in that enviorment.
