AFTERNOON BASEBALL

12.15 EST D-RAYS-115 ORIOLES TOTAL 9
Bedard was a late scratch yesterday and the Baltimore people are keeping it quiet
Here in tampa I learned at 8.am this guy is not 100% and will be on a pitch count
And the o?s bullpen will be on call from the start. The rays had many scoring chances yesterday ending the game with the bases loaded
Lets factor the devil rays score just under 6 runs a game vs lefties and we can add another 1.5 being home. Im just curious if bedard wasn?t fit to pitch last night on national television why would be ok to pitch a 12.15 afternoon game today
The good news is tampabay -115

THE GREAT NEWS IS?..the orioles at least can hit. Hendrickson who is scheduled to pitch although u may see halama but it will be Hendrickson I look for him to give up 4-5 runs here with both pens used up last night the total over 9 looks very solid

Suggested plays double play on the over 9
Regular play on the d-rays -115
1st half d-rays money line -125
1st half over 4.5 as a big play
look for runs early and often and the rays to win a wild 7-5 kind of game

Bedard didn't pitch last night because he was late returning from his home in Canada. ESPN's announcers reported this yesterday during the first inning. Good luck!

thats correct CAP5....been pretty crappy weather up here last while..had one usairways airplane skid off the runway.

---

Erik Bedard was supposed to start last night until his flight out of Ottawa was canceled Wednesday because of inclement weather. The team reversed his assignment with Cabrera's once they learned Bedard wouldn't arrive in Florida until yesterday.

The left-hander's plane touched down at 1:50 p.m., a little more than four hours before the scheduled first pitch. He still wanted the ball, but the Orioles weren't going to rush him.

"I've never done it before," Bedard said. "I would have tried. The outcome? I'm not sure."

More reason to hold him back a day.

"It wasn't anything that we had to push," Mazzilli said. "You don't want to put somebody in a spot where they don't belong."

Cabrera wasn't a bad alternative given his emergence, quite unexpected, as the staff ace at the age of 23. He also was working on normal rest after pitching Saturday.

Mazzilli keeps trying to protect Cabrera as his innings build, but circumstances won't allow it.
