72 holes @ 365 (ties lose)
Singh -110 over Monty

Saw Monty play some very inspired golf, inparticular the final rd in South Africa last week, however travel of late should catch up with pops and Singh should be fresh. I'll give him a nod @ pickem.

Waiting to see what OLY puts up although thus far they've done little with golf in the offseason. If I can get 20-1 or better on Love and DiMarco I'll consider them. The one golfer I won't consider is Mickelson. The course doesn't set up well for him and he hasn't played well of late.

2nd rd @ 5dimes
Goosen -135 vs Langer
Tiger +250 vs field for Tourney
(will play this as match since that is where it is listed.)

Watched this yesterday and Langer really appeared to struggle at gageing distance on these huge elevation changes.

I like Tigers chances in this as it is tailor made course for him with 5 par fives and the longest being 541.

2nd rd 0-1
Goosen -135 vs Langer Loss

Langer tied Tiger for low rd of day @ -7:eek:

Got some I'd sure like to go on today(Omeara vs Beem especially) but after yesterdays surprise believe I'll ride rest of tourney out and see if Tiger can can provide small profit in this tourney. It is quite funny to watch him get these unbelievable bounces and smiling for a change. Tiger 5 under on par 5's yesterday and no eagles, yet!

Love +110 over Monty @ 365

Was going to pass as I have played against everyone on their best rd and on them on worst rd and even Tiger goes in with lead and comes out six down so I can see some very negative carma in this tourney --but will have to play this one win or lose.
Love has had 3 doubles and a triple that I have seen however not unusual for his jeckle/hyde nature to fire a good one in final rd as he ranks 2nd in final rd scoring ave.
Monty (however now reserected with belly putter) had played 20 rds in states in 2002 making 4 cuts in six events, has never busted 71 in final rd,had only 1 rd in 60's and and 8 at 74 or greater. Maybe Murph will take a day off:shrug:

matches week 1-3 - 2.34 units
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Silly season totals
Matches week 7-6 +.45 units ytd 12-9 +2.34 units
outrights week +1.9 ytd -1.6 units

These totals vary from Stan's and I am assuming that he counted Tiger wager as outright where it really needed to belong, but since I stuck it in matches will count it that way.--and still not sure how to figure E/W :) I did my math like this.Had 2 E/Ws and one place only all one unit for $10 a unit. Yates returned $69 and change so I subtracted $50 from total return and got 1.9.If this isn't correct I need coaching as I may bet a few E/W in coming season.

Was quite a final rd at Target.Padrig who is known for final rd collapses had every opportunity to wilt when hitting it OB and allowing Tiger to cut an,at one point 8 shot lead to 1. However it was Tiger who spit the bit with a shot 30 yards into the trees on next par 5 and still haveing opp hit a 9 iron from 151yds 20 yards rt of green on 18 an into a hazard to seal it for Padrig. While I don't like to lose wagers I found myself pulling for the man from Ireland.Maybe it will send message to rest of tour that T is human.

DTB, I overlooked the Tiger vs field play  I will amend the recap thread to show your correct score of 7-6 in matchups.

As far as the e/w returns are concerned. Your calculations are correct. If your units are $10 and you returned $69.33 from a $10 e/w wager, then you have made 4.933 units profit.

The difference between this total and that used for the 'recap' is that you staked 2 units on the play, while I calculate returns on just 1 unit staked. This is the standard I set for all forum plays, whether they are win-only, each-way or place-only.

So a 1 unit e/w play @ 33/1 returned a 2.47 unit profit (i.e. half of your total). The other e/w and place-only play were both given a 1 unit weighting, so the overall profit was 0.47 units.

You've got the hang of calculating e/w returns ... it's just my confusing way of standardising plays for the recap
