After an exciting profit of $32 Monday thanks to Andy Ashby and the lack of Dodger hitting, we once again dig in to the batters box and attempt to hit "the man" hard.

Year to Date 29-27

Season Bank + $675

Yesterday 2-1 + $32

Week #1 + $843 (25-22)

Week #2 - $168 (4-5)

TUESDAY
Houston vs. Cincinnatti
The Houston bullpen arms had an extra day off to rest with the rain out on Sunday. The Cincinnatti Reds spent Sunday trying to cope with the loss of a guy that has played like 20 games in the last 2 years and banked over 10 million dollars. Anyway, the Reds offense is woeful, even after their performance last weekend. They hit the ball around in a ballpark which will soon known to all as the next Enron or Coors Field, and oddsmakers will adjust totals there as well. Dempster got lit up by the Pittsburgh hitters in his 2003 debut and Oswalt was true to last years form in beating Colorado. I think Cinncy is clearly outmatched in this particular game.
DEMPSTER is 2-4 when starting against HOUSTON with an ERA of 6.13 and a WHIP of 1.724
OSWALT is 5-0 when starting against CINCINNATI with an ERA of 1.84 and a WHIP of 0.955
Gonna hit the run line in this one because the moneyline is huge. I think Houston has enough offense to hit Dempster hard.

Recommended Play HOUSTON -1.5 -125

San Diego vs. San Francisco
Way to juicy a game to pass up. Obviously the Giants are going to lose this season (at least 60 games) and I think tomorrow is a perfect spot for them to get it. San Diego will never quit in any game. They made a late charge yesterday, and busted their ass to tie in the 8th, but fell short an arm. (great for my giants play yesterday) Peavy pitched great against the Dodgers last week and is a bright young arm in their future. Moss has already beaten the Padres last week, but I think the advantage goes to the hitters when u face a team in that short a turnaround if u aren't Pedro or Unit.
PEAVY is 1-0 when starting against SAN FRANCISCO with an ERA of 1.80 and a WHIP of 1.800
MOSS is 1-1 when starting against SAN DIEGO with an ERA of 4.09 and a WHIP of 1.545.

Recommended Play SAN DIEGO +170

Baltimore vs. Tampa Bay
Granted, the Baltimore bats haven't been lighting things up yet this season, but baseball has the perfect cure JIM PARQUE. Three or four years ago, this kid had great potential in the white sox rotation. Now, he is LUCKY to have a spot in the Tampa rotation. His career is done. He has nothing left and a real bad attitude his old teamates have said. Parque lost to Boston last week and Daal pitched ok, but lost to Cleveland. You couldn't pay me to pick a side in this slugfest about to happen, but I will bite on the OVER in any game that Parque pitches. Even if I know he will only pitch one inning, I will bite.
DAAL is 0-1 when starting against TAMPA BAY with an ERA of 18.71 and a WHIP of 2.309
PARQUE is 4-0 when starting against BALTIMORE with an ERA of 4.38 and a WHIP of 1.297

Recommended Play OVER 10 -105

Expos vs. Cubs
The Cubs had renewed hope this year with the addition of Baker, and a young and talented pitching staff. Baker obviously wants to impress the hometown crowd for the opener, but it isn't going to be easy. I like Matt Clement alot, but he didn't look good in his first start against the Mets. Zach Day on the other hand looked great against the Braves. This would be typical Cub fashion to lose their opener. The weather will be cold, and Clement hasn't done well in cold weather in the past. I like the fact that Day hasn't been seen by the Cubs before, and Clements track record against the Expos is brutal.
CLEMENT is 1-4 when starting against MONTREAL with an ERA of 4.75 and a WHIP of 1.584.

Recommended Play MONTREAL +130

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland
YOU don't think Colon wants this game bad. This used to be such a heated rivalry for these two teams. Comiskey (Cellular Field now) used to be sold out with half the fans coming from Cleveland. Colon wants to get back at his old team for shipping him to the "other country" known as Canada (j/k, love Canadien women). Sox bats can explode at any time as proven Sunday. Colon will be focused for this game and should shut down the Cleveland bats which haven't done anything all year scoring 5,4,3,1,1 runs respectively. Rodriguez did pitch well in earning a 4-2 win at Baltimore, but those bats are much different than the Sox ones. The day off could only have helped the Sox bullpen arms.
RODRIGUEZ is 1-0 when starting against CHI WHITE SOX with an ERA of 7.20 and a WHIP of 1.600

Recommended Play White Sox - 1.5 -110

Brew Crew vs. Pitt
Pittsburghs offense has been amazing this year(compared to general expectations), and the Brewers are battling the Tigers for worst team in the history of baseball. Brewers are just pathetic and offensively are a disgrace to baseball. Richie Sexon is the ONLY player that team has and other pitchers can avoid him whenever they want. Their lineup features the talented Keith Ginter, Jeffrey Hammonds, Wes Helms, Eric Young, and Royce Clayton. None of these players could have a bench role on the Yankees. NOT ONE OF THEM. And this is their starting lineup. Good luck. Hey BUD SELIG WAKE UP, stop worrying about Pete Rose (of course he should be in the Hall) and worry about your team. Anyway, the new look Pirates should dominate this team tomorrow, and it matches up well for the Pirates.
RUSCH is 0-6 when starting against PITTSBURGH with an ERA of 6.25 and a WHIP of 1.633
WELLS is 4-1 when starting against MILWAUKEE with an ERA of 3.35 and a WHIP of 1.275

Recommended Play Pittsburgh -1.5 +120
(Was a double play if played on Monday, but with the extra day off for the relievers, I will only play as a single play)

PENDING
1)Houston -1.5 -120 120/100 (L) -120
2)San Diego +175 100/175 (W) +175
3)Balt/TB OVER 10 -105 105/100 (W) +100
4)Montreal +130 100/130 (L) -100
5)White Sox -1.5 110/100 (W) +100
6)Pittsburgh 1.5 +110 100/110 (L) -100
7)Astros, Dodgers, A's,Pirates parlay 100/446.26 (L) -100

Good Luck to All

keep an eye out for cleveland's rodriguez. hes got the potential to be a very very special pitcher. i believe he pitched very well vs the white sox in his one outing vs them last year as well.

this kid has tons of talent and is capable of matching colon pitch for pitch.

indians bats are so freakin bad though that it may not matter. but just a heads up on ricardo- because he is a potential stud

I agree that he's got a good arm and is a great prospect. Having said that, he got the win against the Sox last year, but finished the game with an ERA of 7+

RODRIGUEZ is 1-0 when starting against CHI WHITE SOX with an ERA of 7.20 and a WHIP of 1.600

I just think Colon really wants this game and the Sox bats while quiet in KC woke up against Detroit (Yes, I know its Detroit, but something has to wake you up).

I use a non-sponsor database, as well as the madjack database which is great. You can go to mlb.com as well and read the articles for each team updated daily as well as the stats for all roster and most minor league players.

Hope this helps.

Would advise everyone who is debating the CUBS total to stay away from it. I see absolutely no value in it. I can see the stadium from my window, and when I went outside, the wind is whipping and it is FREEZING. 6 runs is also a ridiculous total for any Cubs game though. It could easily be a 1-0 game, or a 10-5 game, regardless of the weather. Just impossible to tell how the players are going to come out, or how either pitcher will respond to this weather. Just my 2 cents and good luck to all.

Paradise to me is Chavez-Ravine, but I am biased for sure. Wrigley is a close second in my eyes, but I know I am in the minority in that respect.

Probably see better baseball coming from the friendly confines than you will out of my pathetic dodgers. DOES ANYONE ELSE BUT ME REALIZE THEY HAVEN'T WON A PLAYOFF GAME since winning the world series 15 years ago. So sad from a storied franchise.
