A single winner of Saturday's record $800 million Powerball jackpot who chooses the lump sum option would have $496 million before taxes. After paying $196.4 million in federal taxes, the winner would have $299.6 million. From here, it's all about location.




I find it amusing that if you are a Canadian citizen and you win the Jackpot you'd win more money then if you were an American citizen (less tax).

Oh and if any of you Madjackers win the Powerball just send me the ticket and we can work out some deal. If a Canadian wins the Powerball we'll save roughly 50 million US dollars on taxes that you Americans have to pay, so I am sure we can work out some deal. I'll take 10 million you guys can take the rest.
