Palat: out 2-3 weeks
Coburn: out 4-6 weeks
Paquette: out 1-2 weeks
Angelidis called up from Syracuse Crunch
Brown is back tonight
Carle by Saturday, perhaps
Erik Erlendsson@erlendsson:
So that leaves #TBLightning with 12 healthy Fwds and 6 healthy D for tonight vs the #Bruins
Joe Smith, Times Staff Writer:
The Lightning's 1-0 win over the Canadiens Tuesday might have turned into one of its biggest losses.
Three key players were hurt in that game, with veteran defenseman Braydon Coburn out 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury, forward Ondrej Palat (lower body) out 2-3 weeks, and Cedric Paquette (upper body) out 10-14 days.
It's a big blow to the Lightning, which trails Montreal by just one point in the Atlantic Division.
Coburn was Tampa Bay's main deadline acquisition, with the Lightning trading Radko Gudas and a first- and third-round pick to the Flyers. General manager Steve Yzerman said this injury isn't related to the foot he broke twice this season. Yzerman expects Coburn could be back by the start of the first round. Getting Matt Carle back soon will help ease the blow.
Mike Angelidis is on an emergency recall from Syracuse. J.T. Brown is returning Thursday after missing three games with a upper body injury. Yzerman says no other callups are planned, depending on when Carle comes back.
