TCU Horny Frogs (-2.5) vs. Southern Miss
There is a quote said by someone, somewhere that is something to handicap by.
"Defense wins ballgames"
A good running defense will stop a good running back 90% of the time. I dont care how good you are, if there are no holes to get through you aren't going anywhere.
Derrick Nix is a really good back, and probably will be carrying the rock on Sundays. However, TCU is giving up only 2.0 yards per rush. In other words, Derrick Nix isnt going to have a good day. Southern Miss is going to have to beat TCU through the air, and their QB just isnt good. They beat Cincy last week, but that score is really deceiving as they were actually outgained by 198 yards!
TCU has won 6 in a row, with their last loss coming at Cincy, which was a complete fluke. Their rush "D" is awesome, and their pass "D" isnt to bad either. They should be able to score at least once defensively, and if not score, give their team great field position.
In addition, 1 starting DL and OL are questionable. TCU is healthy.
Not to mention home field advantage, and TCU beat So Miss by 2 last year at their place. Give me the better team, at home by less than a field goal.
PLAY TCU (-2.5) 1 Unit.
