Teacher gets fired over this.

Jack. The guys were talking about this kind of stuff yesterday at the golf course.
When we were in school, kids didn't act out and disrespect teachers. Sure, you had a guy or two every year who would test the waters, and the teacher would bounce his ass off of a wall or locker. No one thought a thing about it, other than, "that kid is an asshole."
AND, if a teacher ever had to set you straight, and your DAD found out?........Well, you guys remember. The erosion of respect for authority (or anyone, for that matter) in the USA should not be accepted. Now, you see it towards police, too. How many videos have you seen with someone antagonizing a cop, just trying to get them to "fuck up"? Why?
Maybe it's as simple having no male role model anymore? Dad raised us, and taught us right from wrong. Too many generations of weak men in this Country have led to this shit, IMO. "Spare the rod, spoil the child" is on full display today.
I fear that we can't unwind the clock, though. The only way we get back to "normal", is for the teacher to kick Carter's ass, and not get in trouble. Then, when mom threatens to sue, the school board says, "Bring it." Then, when she sues, the Court says, "Your kid should be in jail, but instead we're just removing him from school".
Sadly, as long as "we" allow this behavior, it will not only continue, but keep getting worse.

yeah, perfect example of why we have an entire generation that doesn't think rules apply to them. because they never have.
that kid needs to get the shit kicked out of him. i mean, ideally, he'd learn you don't treat a teacher (or, really, anyone) like that years before it came to this point. but he was obviously looking to provoke this.
the teacher never took a swing. the worst he did was throw his notebook, but he was clearly trying to defend himself in a no-win situation.
so much respect for anyone who decides to become a teacher. constantly shit on by asshole kids and, now, their parents. for not much pay. but they get summers off! :facepalm:
oh, the newest movement... is to end suspensions for kids. i understand the impetus behind that, because a suspended kid's education is interrupted. but how the fuck else do you punish a piece of shit kid like this? lord knows his parents aren't gonna do a damn thing.

I would not have touched the kid and let him hit me.... Then I would sue the fuck out of his parents. Maybe they might understand his behavior after they lost their ass in court?
This was an email I received from one of my students in a college class I teach. I refused to go back until they met with him and eventually removed him from my class. I also had the police show up to the first few classes I taught afterwards. The school acted like it was that odd to them I wouldn't go back in the classroom and teach. This was right during the Covenant School shooting. I also hadn't dropped him from my class as he was stating I had done. He eventually apologized and said he had an interaction to new meds.

I don't blame you for your actions. Teachers are sitting ducks these days and can't even defend themselves from this new generation of kids that have no respect for any adults and want everything handed to them on a platter.
I told the dean, if this guy has the guts to write this to a professor, he has the guts to buy a gun and take me and my students out as well. I told them I wasn't going back until something was done and I wouldn't subject my students to possible harm. They told me not to tell my students I received anything or why the police was there.
