On the course!
My bowling team has 3 weeks under our belt, and after a 1-3 start, we have gone 3-1 and 4-0 the past two weeks.

Tonight, we have a decent shot to move into first place. It is quite early in the season, but my teammates are all bowling well, with the exception of our "A" player, who sprained his back golfing, and is out until week 5. (His sub is kinda new to the game, but he is consistant....so the handicap is good.)

I tossed a 702 series last week, after starting with 9 strikes in the first game. A solid pocket shot left the 8 pin in the 10th!

I will keep a running diary of the team's progress through the year, and hope to keep Mad Jack Sports on the tongues of all those old farts at the lanes!

(I am trying to get a few of the guys to visit here, but oddly......not a lot of these guys gamble!)

yyz....I hope you're left-handed! Otherwise, all I'm going to say is "PUT SOME FINGERS INTO IT" and carry that 8 pin :nono: :D

Good luck tonight....hope you take over 1st.

I might get a photo out on the air......who can say?

Tonight, we fell to 9-7 with a dismal 1-3 record. Everyone bowled below their average. I dropped to 196 from 200, but 196 has been my average for the last 5 seasons.

We are still only one game out of 1st, with 5 teams at 10-6

Next week.....who knows?

I made a little side cash after we were done Bowled a team mate 4 games and beat him 860-847

ndnfan........I'm a righty, but the five pin whized past the eight last week.........I'll get a 300 yet!:D

Where ya bowl at in Fon Du Lac? My gf's dad owns a business called Pro Motor Sports over in Fondy..

Next time we go over to visit, I should meet up with ya and we could bowl a few games for some $$.. $10 a pin, 3 game series.. lol! Yeah right.. I couldnt afford that.. My ave fell from 212 down to 195 over the past 2 weeks.. I'm sure I'll settle in at around 190..

I bowl on a 9am Wednesday morning league with some friends at work.. Its mostly old people but still fun..
Damn, its almost 4am and I have to get up in 4 hours to go bowling!

Me out

Brandon

I am also a bowler once a week now but injuries have slowed me down I bowl the Super Bowl High Roller when we are all in Vegas with Mad Jacks averaging low 220s right now but I am usually in the teens. Hang in there y been doing this for years 13 300s and 4 800s in my career they seem to come in bunches, I have not had one in 3 years.

Just signed up for a new League. AVG 168 last year, but took home the high game of the league with a 271. Wondering if your league pays $ for where you place or $ amount per win. Ours pays about $2.75 per win plus $100 for first place.

Just got a 100 dollar check in the mail from the "40 frame game" from nationals out in Billings earlier this year. 322nd place.... not too bad when they pay 1097 places........ Just wish I could have shot decent at Nationals..... one of the guys I went with won a bunch of brackets in the team event......950 dollars worth....

Off to a slow start this season-- 5 weeks in and avg is only 192. Only one decent series so far.....651. Ended up last year at 201.

Joshnaudi--

Our league gives out prizes like that. 2 seasons ago I got 3rd place for a 279. Suprised they gave me the 25 bucks for 3rd.....there were 6 300s shot that season.

jcjrbowl--

Have you made a hole-in-one yet? A dude that I go to Nationals with every year owns a bowling alley in Iowa City. The paper did a story on him after he got a hole-in-one and it talked about how he had thrown a 300 and now had gotten a hole-in-one. I was giving him some chit one night about his "athletic prowess" and said whats left for you to do....
He says-- throw an 800......at that time, he hadn't done it yet. Finally got one last year...when MY team was bowling his team.....

Very impressive jcr.. Looks like there's lots of good bowlers here at madjacks..

What a crappy morning.. Had a 176 (3 bagger going into the tenth and whammo- split) a 228, and a whopping 149.. Just ran out of gas in that 3rd game.. 553 aint the end of the world though..

The 40 Frame Game!

Our team did that in Abq. a couple of years ago. It was some tough sledding! There was a cat from Illinois there on the next pair of lanes with one of the guys from his team. (Plus a couple of impressive lady friends!) This guy tosses the first 18 for strikes, and only had a few balls that were spares! (I think he had a run of nine in there, too.) He made a sweet chunk of cash on that day.

You must really be a serious bowler to go to Billings!

My guys determined that we will only do Reno from now on. Not too fun to take a trip and toss 450's all week!

jcjrbowl-

WHAT?? you shoot 78-79 and you say your not very good? You'd be giving me 10 strokes a round if we were to ever play...... :(

YYZ--

Was planning on making the Billings trip a short one-- fly in on Thursday night, bowl Sat and Sun and home on Monday... then realized the northern corner of Yellowstone NP was just a few hours south of Billings.... so ended up going on Tuesday, drove down to Yellowstone for two days, then back to Billings to bowl. Yeah, we are hardcore about our bowling...
Youn think Billings is nothing special? Try Syracuse, New York. What a chithole.....

'03 is in Knoxville, Tenn. We always go a few weeks after the season is over(early May).... Will go for a week this year and play lots of golf....

'04 is in Baton Rouge....only an hour up the road from New Orleans...... probably take the wife along and spend a week in The Big Easy.......
