Hey fellas,

Well today marks my 180 day notice of leaving the military!

Not sure if I am happy or sad yet, but I am ready to hit the job market with full force!

If anyone has any inside tracks for a upper management level position with a 6 figure salary and full medical coverage plan please drop me a line.

Otherwise, its time to put my money where my mouth is and see what kind of job a military kid can actually land.

marine,

I don't know what line of work you're interested in, but...

if you're looking for 50-60K w/ full medical coverage and other excellent benefits, you may want to consider a career with a Class 1 Railroad.

I know for a fact the Union Pacific has a severe personnel shortage is hiring as I type. Class 1 Railroads are major corporations with several different departments. You may find something to your liking in a management position.

I do not work for the Union Pacific nor do I work in management.

I work for a much smaller railroad as an engineer/brakeman(Class 3), but the infrastructure and operation is similar.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

If interested, go to:

Go for a Federal job. It was hell for me working one but for a military guy you can't beat it. Impenetrable job security, solid wages once you work a few years and the vast majority of your fellow Federal employees, especially those in upper management, will be fellow ex-military/pro-military type guys. My dad was in the Navy and he has been in a Federal job for about two decades now. It is definitely the place to be for guys like that.
