Tennis picks have been continuing to go quite well, sooo... I thought I'd try again to get somebody interested. I'll make the comments for each a bit smaller than my last thread. Thanks for the hits to my last thread

Starting off with TWO pricey picks. I think tennis is the toughest sport to come up with winning underdogs although I guess boxing is pretty tough to come up with one also. Still, I'm thinking at least one of these two will be a WINNAH! Not sure how I'm gonna playem though, cause I can't decide between them.
Maybe, somebody out there also likes ONE of them. So, here they both are:

For this (4/22) morning:

Chela (+173): I believe they are pretty evenly matched and both are excellent clay courters. One exception to that is that Amalgro has a serving edge. :scared
I'm gonna discount that edge (cause they're playing on clay) and IMO Chela deserves a shot at this price. This one is an early bird special, sorry bout that. Starts at 8:30 A.M.

Ventura (+150): If you go strictly by the nos. and records - Feliciano surely looks like the play here. But, they both have fared similarly vs. the better players and Ventura's current game is up to par. They've only faced each other one time, Lopez won, but that was a long, long time ago. IF Ventura is gonna beat him - it's gonna be on clay cause that is unquestionably his best surface.

and

one favorite.....

Stepanek (-140): Only problem I see with this one is the odds.... ... they SHOULD BE "WORSER". Hmmm - sure hope there ain't something I don't know about goin on for this one.:mj03:

G.L. today

I'd like to see better odds on Ventura, but I guess others are seeing what we are. I think think the clay surface gives him a good shot.

BTW, Stepanek barely pulled out the first set in his match vs. Tips. Winning the tie breaker in the first set really sends the right message to your opponent.

Update:

Stepanek covers: Looks like Tips got the message I mentioned from that first set :00hour

Ventura (in progress): He .... (1) blows out Lopez in the first set 6-2, (2) loses a hard fought battle in the 2nd set 4-6, (3) MAY be resting up for the NEXT tournament in the 3rd set 1-4 :s2:

BUT, it ain't over yet.

As they say, "Vamos Chela"

editing to write -> Sheesh, you have to refresh their "live" scoreboard once in awhile. I just did that and see that the 3rd set in the Ventura/Lopez match went to Lopez, 6-3.

:director: On to Chile... er, Chela.

Dang, so much for Chela. I go to the site scoreboad and didn't see this result posted. I go to Yahoo's site and see.....

Almagro beats Chela in another ASS BURNER, long match, - 3-6, 7-6, 6-3. Looks so much like the Ventura match! What gets me is that I debated whether or not to just go with the OVER for both of those matches, figuring that (at least) the doggie would give the fovorite a hard time. Wound up going for the jugular and got strangled. :00x4

At least Stepanek came through at very nice odds (considering that matchup) to make the day tolerable. But, still a bit in the red for the day.

Stay tuned.
