Did anyone else watch Roddick play Acasuso? Even though Roddick won 7-6, 6-0, Roddick did NOT play well.
The more I watch him play, the more I hate his game. Every time the point progresses beyond the serve, I assume he will lose it.
Acasuso actually had Roddick by the balls in the first set tiebreak, but a bad line call in Roddick's favor during the tiebreak put Acasuso over the edge. He lost his composure and that was that.
Not sure why Roddick doesn't come to the net off short balls and also just off very strong forehands. There are so many opportunities for him to come to net when he'd have an easy volley if he were there, but he chooses instead to stand several feet behind the baseline and run around.
Watch Agassi play and see how he stands right at the baseline. Until Roddick changes his approach, he simply has no chance. The announcer last night said by the end of the year that James Blake could be the USA's new #1. I agree.
Strange that I used to think Roddick was good. I guess he IS good, but not great.
