Gotta run-going to Syracuse for the game today-lucky to score some prime seats-looking for a better game than the 2 from the other night.
My observations-if they help anyone great.
The Carrier Dome is a weird place to see a game-it is loud and yet silent. The crowd only adds a little-when the bands place it drowns out everything. Momentum will be made solely by the teams themselves.
There were probably an equal number of UConn and Terp fans there Fri night. MAybe a few more made the drive from Storrs for today. Remember the Huskies play here at least once a year and the shooting is not known for being good.
What I was impressed with most of the games was:UConns speed and dribbling ability-did not know they were that quick. MAryland just seemed a tad off. Thought their inside game was stronger. Blake was TERRIBLE. I was a fan of his and he was not a leader-if he does not play better-UConn wins.
Both teams had big leads in the 2nd half and did not go in for the kill-but Maryland played the toughter opponent.
Willilams is a pyscho on the sidelines-screams at his own players and always seems like he is complaining-Calhoun seems more in charge.
Maryland has more go to guys. UCONN impressed me on the O-Boards-Okafor MUST show up.
Observations from Fri has lead me to believe that this one will be close. I feel that 8.5 is too many for an athletic Huskie team-gotta run Mrs Whale in the car.....UCONN +8.5 5 units.
ps--watch the UCONN cheerleaders-they must have the 2 fattest guys to ever cheerlead. One guy goes 300 easy and looks so out of place it bothered me the whole game....
