He will eventually be in, but no one can convince me he didn't deserve entry ahead of marvin harrison.

Owens.....5 time all-pro, 156 TDs, 15,900 receiving yards on 1078 receptions

Harrison. ...3 time all-pro, 128 TDs, 14,500 receiving yards, 1102 receptions

not sure I agree...if you look at their seasonal numbers(owens played 2 extra seasons),Harrison was much more consistent..4 back-to-back 100 catch seasons and two 90 catch seasons...owens got to 100(on the nose) once and had 2- 90+ reception seasons... ...admittedly, harrison played with manning most of his career so that`s an advantage...but that`s out of his control...and that 143 catch season?...utterly amazing....the all-time record...

of course,it`s all subjective...t.o.gets in somewhere down the road..

I agree. I guess they factor in the character issue.

Harrison is connected to multiple shootings and has at least 1 gun offense on his record, but has received a pass in the court of public opinion. TO was a loudmouth and team cancer, but has a spotless criminal record.

Both are HOF players, but I prefer the more explosive TO, who was also a vicious blocker.

I was always a big fan of both TO and Marvin. IMO Marvin was a much more reliable WR. TO dropped too many balls for my liking.

Like gw, your points are well taken. Honestly, its tough to compare the 2 since one is sure-handed and steady (not to be mistaken for average) possession receiver(12 ypr) working plenty in the slot, quick as lightning in and out of his cuts, while the other is a rare combination of thickness and speed who made big plays on the edge (almost 15 ypr)and was a major force in the red zone (1 td behind Moss and 3rd place all time in wr touchdowns).
