UL Monroe +4 over Texas St ****
Line has me baffled I was at the last game when UL won in San marcus by 4 Now at home they are getting points I wrote this here already UL put Blackam on the only true scorer Harrell and he alone shut him down Harrell had 3 or 4 turnovers despite the box score saying he had one He missed most of this 3's and ended up with 14 pts and most of those were made when Blackmon was on the bench UL had 6-10 250 pound Bafutto who had a season high pts scored and rebounds against Ceaser and co . Tx st has no post defense. This was the game where the Monroe players were arguing with each other when their best player Locure and top scorer didn't pass the ball on a 2-1 break. Two players on the bench cursed him out and Locure told them to shut the f up. Their coach who was lead guiartist for the Rolling Stones Keith Richards had no control of his players, I almost was going to jump in the huddle and say' " fella's I have $50 on you guys to win and cover and your up by 4 or 5 points" Stop fighting with each other " and would also say "Locure you are the best player in the gym tonight since your teammate is shutting down Harrell but pass the ball on a 2-1 break .. lol
anyway looking at my notes on this game this is what I think I scribbled
Locure can shoot and attack the basket Fast lean and drives. Howell about 6'8 and can rebound and has some moves on offense. Powell off the bench about 6;5 or 6'6 . Gallion an avg gd with size started the argument when Locure didn't pass you the ball . Bafuuto in Brazil they might let you shoot from the outside. You have one move to the basket and Tex hasn't figured it out yet. Rebound and stay within 3 feet from the hoop . Blackmon around 6'2 built like a cornerback but lateral movement lightning quick Don't let Harrell drive and shoot and you guys beat the Bobcats He did and was my MVP . You took a few 3's and Keith Richards didn't say anything so you must have hit some in the past.
UL Monroe has been at the bottom of the Sun conf the past few years. The last time Tex st came into your gym Ashberry,Small and Adams all had career days as they beat you 80-56 Those guys are all gone and only harrell is left. Coach Keith hope you take out the tape of your last game vs Bobcats and tell Blackmon stay on harrell and don't let him breath . Now the difference in HS basketball coaching and college. If I had a kid who shut down my opponents top player and on the way home we stop at a MacDonalds my def star would get an
extra biggie " meal . Thats a larger soda and bigger fries. lol Not sure if Keith Richards did that in San Marcus a few weeks ago
