Hope this line stays at Texas 27.5. Thats a lot of value for Colorado. Yes ,they absolutely blew a flat tire vs. Nebraska but I think they will show up here and keep this closer than this inflated line.

OU won 42-3 last year in Big 12 Championship over CO. I can see the same type of performance from Texas this Sat. I am sure Texas will do everything possible to run up the score and pad Youngs stats for Heisman. We all know how much Brown campaigns for his QB. PATHETIC! I be worried about that. Texas trying to get respect back and blowing out CO even when game is in hand. Just something to think about. Texas is a very good team and CO isn't even a good team.

Texas
I'm not going to participate in any crap bag discussions on inside information and how nobody can know if a team is motivated and how I suck and I'm a liar. But I would be real, real careful betting on Colorado, as more than likely this Colorado team is done for the year. Now while I would normally agree that 27.5 or 28 is way too many points for this type of game, I personally wouldn't bet on Colorado if they were getting 42. I don't know if I can bet Texas as I'm genetically allergic to laying that many points, but I'm considering it. Barnett might come up with something to motivate these kids but I doubt it. Only way Colorado puts up a fight is if there is some serious bulletin board material put out by Texas between now and the game.

Deep in the heart of Texas
Jerry Scarbrough in True Orange reports that many players including Young and Studdard were suffering from am intestinal flu last Friday against the Agro-americans. This only partially explains why they looked and played like $hit.

colorado didnt just look bad vs NU but also against ISU. QB is all over the place with his throws. I couldnt believe some of the throws he made vs ISU when they were driving for a score.

the last time UTexas played CU in the big12 champ game, CU was rolling along. the running game was on a tear. this time CU backed into the champ game and is playing poorly on both sides of the ball.

it would be hard to see UTexas not putting up 40+ again. i dont think CU can keep up.

does Brown get a bonus for having a heisman candidate? i mean, i can understand going to bat for your player. you want a coach who will stand up for his kids. but i think Mack is going a little overboard here.

what did Mack say about the Heisman? I must have missed it.
And this looks like a good spot for Colorado, line may get pushed up to around 29

MACK BROWN :s2:

EVERY YEAR this dude is BEGGING for something. Last year he was begging the BCS so Texas would get the BCS bid over Cal. EVERY year its something.

Last week during the halftime show of the Nebraska/Colorado game, this CLOWN Mack Brown stated Vince Young is no question the best player in the country and begging heisman voters. Didn't Mack Brown see that his QB looked like crap in the game against a $hitty defense. During the game Young sat on the bench and moped over his performance. The announcers even pointed it out. You never see Matt Leinart sitting on the bench feeling sorry for himself. He's always supporting his team ON and OFF the field.

I would be embarrassed to have Brown coaching USC.

Brown said we should have two Heisman's, one for runningback and one for quarterback. What? Hey Mack, if Vince was clearly out in front for the Heisman and not Bush, would you still be in favor of that two Heisman thing? I seriously doubt it. Funny how last year after crying his way over a more deserving Cal Bear team he didn't say, "they should play two Rose Bowls, one for texas and one for Cal."

Brown is basically saying, it's not fair that VY has to compete against Reggie Bush. Oh and by the way, as the commentator in the studio said after he made that stupid comment, VY wouldn't even win the QB Heisman, ML would. And they do have awards for each position and VY isn't going to win that one either. There is no way this guy is going to out coach Pete Carroll.

The next day on college gameday, Brown now thinks there should be 3 Heisman Trophies for Bush, Leinart and Young. Then cries out that if voters look at the entire year, they need to give serious consideration for Young.

Some people think Brown should be considered coach of the year. I'll guarantee you one thing, Brown certainly will campaign for it.

Dear MACK BROWN,
Act like you been there before and stop begging. Champions just do and not talk about or beg for it.

Brown, what you have just done is called a surrender. Once you start arguing for 2, it means you conceded you ain't #1.

It is quite obvious Brown has just raised and waved the white flag for his qb in the Heisman race. It's over Mackie. The real beat down happens in Pasadena for the NC.

Scott -

why was Cal more deserving?

Cal got their ass handed to them by TTech in Califoria...a team Texas crushed in Lubbock.

meanwhile, Texas eeks out a Rose Bowl win.

if Cal cant show up against a team in a bowl game, no matter WHO it is and WHERE and WHEN they play....then they dont deserve BCS. that was Cal's time to PROVE to people they belonged in the BCS...instead they got it handed to them by a Big12 team. yup.

---

also, how doyou know Matt Leinart supports his team on and off the field ALL the time? do you watch him every second? is the camera ALWAYS on him? NO. so please stop. thanks.

i like that Mack is supporting his players. that's what a coach should do. i dont necessarily think he's correct that VY is the best player in CFB. my vote would go to Bush, personally. but I think the coach should go to bat for his players. you call it begging, i call it supporting.

what did mack beg for 2 years ago? 3? 4? 5? 6? you say he begs every year. what are all the things he's begged for? thanks.

SDF, the Iowa State game was played in a howling wind. They could easily have won that game so it really boils down to one awful game against Nebraska. They actually hung around in that 24 point loss in Austin and have a good shot here.

Scott, Fresno State gave USC a good game and proceeds to lose to Nevada the next week, who is average at best. Texas wins by 2 touchdowns in the Rose Bowl.

Yes. But Texas was deserving as well.

Matt Leinart has never pouted over bad performance. Take ND game for example. National game, most watched game of year, rivalry etc. Leinarts WR's dropped 5 wide open perfectly thrown passes in that game. Not once did Leianrt pout or get upset. If the WR's catch those passes, I bet Leianart gets talked about winning the Heisman because he would have had monster #'s. Leinart threw 2 INT's in ND game and you didn't see him pout. Reggie Bush never has pouted sharing the time with Lendale White. Everyone did see Young pout. That is NOT an example of a team leader.

How come Brown was not saying their should be 2 Heismans when Young was the leader to win the trophy? Where was Brown? Why when Bush has the best day of any player this year and Young playing horrible, Brown then starts crying there should be 2 trophies. Then the next day say there should be 3 trophies. I have NEVER seen Pete Carroll lobby for any of his players to win the Heisman trophy. NEVER! Looks like USC might win 3 Heismans in 4 years! Brown now says CAL was deserving of BCS bowl but last year he was crying his team should go. Brown can't let his team do the talking on the field. This LOSER mentality will get his team blown out in the Rose Bowl. I have NO RESPECT for Mack Brown.

Didn't Brown cry when his team was left out of BCS bowl games before last year?

are you the only person in the world that still thinks that cal deserved to be there last year even after texas tech handed it to them? Some people argued that it was a letdown game because they were not where they wanted to be, i do not buy that for a second. Auburn was not where they wanted to be, but they still took care a business against a very good va tech team. Meanwhile cal could not take care of tech. If cal was in the rose bowl last year michigan would have handed it to them.

#1 Why are you talking about the results of the bowl games? The argument is about whether CAL deserved to be in the Rose Bowl over Texas.

#2 CAL was an injured depleted team AND not a motivated team. I would say Texas Tech is the last team you want to play in a bowl game if you are not motivated. TT surely was motivated to play and beat CAL. You see all the time in Bowl games teams not showing up. Make a lot of $$$ in bowl season with ML's.

#3 CAL when healthy, played USC for 4 fawking quarters and was a 1st and goal on the USC 10 yard line away from beating the #1 ranked team in the country at their place! That was the CAL team for most of the year. Since you like to look at the results of bowl games to support your opinion, I can play that game as well. The #1 team in the Big 12 got SMOKED by USC in the OB where OU fans outnumberd USC fans by at least 20k. CAL took USC to the last min. of the game @USC.

#4 Michigan was not a very good team last year. Don't be too impressed with Texas "barely" beating them. It was great win for Texas because they never win big games. Rose Bowl is always a big game. But Michigan was not a very good team.

#5 What if Texas beats Texas A&M this weekend but Vince Young breaks his leg. Do you still put Texas in the Rose Bowl? If USC does play Texas, will they be playing the same quality Texas team that ran the table this year? What if last year OU QB White broke his leg in Big 12 championship game but OU still won. Do you put Auburn in the Orange Bowl? Or do you look at what EACH team accomplished in the season?

they didnt really hang around thouhg?
first 5 texas possessions:

TD
TD
TD
TD
TD

they were down 35-3 just before half. i honestly dont consider that "hanging around"

ithat CU game....that was THE BEST i have ever seen VY play. he couldnt miss on his throws.
i dont expect anything near that in this game.
i think that bodes well for CU backers.

but the poor play in the NU game...and even in the ISU game...heavy wind or not...CU played poorly...they continually shot themselves in the foot when they had shots to stay in the game..
i think that bodes well for Texas winning the game. CU is not playing their best ball right now.
i just wonder if CU really thinks they have a shot to win this, or if they are just showing up to this game b/c someone has to represent the big12 north.

does mack try to get a big blowout and big stats for VY? does he just care about getting the W here (i think so...i think Mack will take a 41-21 win here....RUTSing CU does him no good...)

i like CU +28. i expect a closer game than in Austin but a win by the Horns to face USC in the Rose Bowl.
