RANGERS STARTER DOUG DAVIS (5-7): Davis allowed one earned run in seven innings during a no-decision against Baltimore on Wednesday. Davis is 5-2 with a 2.94 ERA for his last 10 starts. He has been effective against right-handers during this stretch, sinking the ball often enough to hold them to a .271 average. Before this, right-handed hitters were batting .353 against Davis.
LOVES TO FACE: Cal Ripken Jr. (0-for-5)

HATES TO FACE: Tony Batista (3 homers in 13 at-bats)

ABOUT THE RANGERS: The Rangers are 6-2 against Baltimore this season. Ivan Rodriguez has hit .367 for 30 at-bats against the Orioles this season. Since the start of last season, Rodriguez is hitting .339 for 62 at-bats against Baltimore.

BALTIMORE STARTER SIDNEY PONSON (5-6): Ponson, a right-hander, allowed six runs in seven innings during a no-decision against the Rangers on Tuesday. Ponson is 1-2 with a 5.24 ERA in his last seven starts. The increased dimensions at Camden Yards have helped Ponson. He is 3-3 with a 3.48 ERA at home.
LOVES TO FACE: Alex Rodriguez (5-for-26, 10 strikeouts)

HATES TO FACE: Frank Catalanotto (5-for-11)

ABOUT THE ORIOLES: Baltimore had lost 19 of its last 23 games entering Sunday's play at Anaheim. The bullpen has been the main culprit. Baltimore relievers were 1-14 since May 21, and the Orioles had lost a league-high 13 games when leading after six innings.

Since this is the only game today, I am sure it will be capped to death on here. What impact do folks think Balt playing in Anahiem last night will have on them tonight?

Rangers 7-3 L10 will start Davis ( 5-7 4.43 ) in this one. He has been solid over the last 15 innings giving up 3 runs. His last start was a ND against Baltimore where he went 7 strong giving up 2 runs ( 1 earned ). Orioles Ponson ( 5-6 4.43 ) on the other hand has had it tough giving up 10 runs in his last 11 innings which includes a loss to Texas back on July 24th. Baltimore 2-8 L10 played a late game on the West coast last night and may not be completely in this one but who knows passing on this one.

i would think both teams would be a little tired and in lets get this done with mode. That combined with pitchers having success against each other would seem like under 10 as the play, or just take the rangers playing better than baltimore over the last week. also like duval/webb. no reason for match not to be a pick em and i know this means more to duval than tiger. not sure about the ladies.
