Cailfornia -1.5 over Texas St *****
Bears are 0-4 and have been a bad PAC 12 team. Fox who left Zaga a few yeas ago hasn't done much with this team since he moved. They lost this year to UC San D,and Souhern already/ Last year they were 12th in the PAC 12th,and 331th in scoring. They were in the 280's- 300's in turnovers,3 pt FG%,assists,shooting % etc etc. Defense was better giving up only 66 pts a game ranking them 79th,4th in conference. Fox's coaching position is in trouble even starting out this year. But they hit a home run in the transfer portal signing former Texas gd Askew Texas got him from Kentucky and he can play. When I heard he transferred from Texas I could understand why Texas had Ramey,Carr and its new comers . No room for Askew but I thought he was the most talented Texas gds and can penetrate and and pass. I thought who ever gets this kid could change a teams offense. Well the Bears got him and he is their leading scorer. Tex St has 5'5 Harrell who is a scorer and " is the straw that " that stirs the drink But he doesn't have enough around him Tex St did beat URI the other day but got smoked by UTSA and avg team . Bobcats can't hit 3's or FT's. Their front line plays solid defense but are not scorers . Tex St ats record on the road is 6-2 and 9-3 ats in last 12 and California ats is somewhere surfing in the Pacific but Askew has some size and depth on his team They have Lars a 7'1 center and Kuany who is 6'9 who is a double digit scorer. Also they have a 6'7 gd in Celestine who avg double digits. Alajiki made all Pac 12 freshman team They also return their pt gd Brown who has to take a back seat to Askew. They also got Clayton another scoring gd from Hartford. . Think with Lars Theimann Tex state doesn't have a post defense and although Askew avg 2 pts a game for the Longhorns this kid can play. Think Bears should win this by double digits because Fox's days are numbered in Berkley. Tex st coming off a 18 pt loss to Wash St . Pac-12 conference to much of a step up from the Sun cond plus its on the road.
