Texas Tech -3 over Texas ***
Last time these guys play each other in B-12 conf games. Huge crowd with people sleeping out in tents to get tickets to the game. NT's coach Grant MacFarland is now coach at Tech and instilled his defensive philosphy . He beat Kansas a few weeks ago and think his players got a few swollen heads. Texas is a big rival and the players and crowd already have enough incentive for tonights game. Texas is in a slump shooting 42% in last 4 or 5 games. There top scorer Abmas who has it in double digits the 1st 12-14 games has hit under 5 pts in last 3 games. Coaches are playing him tighter. He had 5 pts vs Kansas the other day. Think Tech doesn't give him any room to shoot And this kid likes to shoot from anywhere. Love Techs pt gd Pop Isaacs and think he controls the game and tempo. Home crowd with Tech fans I'm sure singing some SEC welcoming songs or farewell B-12 chants. Texas is in a hostile environment w/o anything I have learned something since I moved here. Texas Tech hates Texas . Think Grant is an outstanding coach but Texas needs this win to stay out of the bottom 4 in the B-12. The B-12 bottom 4 have a mini tournament for seeding in there conf tournament . Winner of that gets the last seed.. So there is an incentive to stay away from the bottom 4 If Texas loses they are tied with 3 others in the bottom 4. But think Techs heads are back to normal and Raiders win out right sending there old B-12 buddies back to Austin.
Texas St -3 over UL Monroe ***
Going to the game tonight. Bobcats won at UL the 1st time they met. Both teams are 11-16 and 12-17 . Think Texas st since starting Sykes have added another scoring option and Love had only 8 pts in there last game. Tex won by 13 and think they can do maybe even better at home. Think tonight he scores more and is more of a factor.. Benson the Army transfer hit 4-4 from the 3 and all the Sun coaches realized this transfer can shoot for Tx St. So he won't be left open tonight but still think Bobcats at home can win this and cover.
