Going to the game tonite
UL Monroe +12 over Tex St **
Think Bobcats win this but think 2 touchdowns is too many points Tx St already beat UL away by 12 72-60 . Tex St does get its home court advantage but think they win by 8-10 pts Both teams have losing records and are at the bottom of the Sun Conf. Tx St has dominated this series big time. Keith Richards the coach of UL has already announced his retirement and has zero resemblance to the other Keith Richard. I looked at my note from last years game and think almost all UL has all new players. Not a huge play because I can't read last years notes on the game Not impressed with Richards as a coach . Sat with some parents of UL players last year and he was not well liked . Think maybe their kids were on the bench. Double didgits for the Bobcats is a lot of points with small crowd/ It really depends on the Tx ST drill team... if they are dancing and cheering at this home game Think they are since its been over a month that the Bobcats played a home game. But at halftime they all leave and go back to the dorm . Small play but going for the underdog tonite for me. Maybe 1st half play Tx St. ??? There will be about 300-400 fans in the gym . I will get a Bobcat popcorn and soda and sit near the visiting teams parent section.

cancelling tonight's game. A good friend and fellow teacher Steve Janove passed away; Just found out thru an email about an hour ago Big time NY met fan and a great social studies teacher. Lived and died with his Mets. So sad. Don't feel like driving down to San Marcus with the sad news. Have so many funny stories of us teaching together for over 25 years. I never even knew he was sick .I love living down here in Texas but never know when someone is sick . Damn that sucks .. Seems like I'm out of the loop down here. Will find out what really happened. One of my all time favorite stories was when he moved to Orange county he commuted from Peekskill his parents home He bought a house in Maybrook across the street from Yellow Frieght Center He was a smoker and one night sitting on his stoop outside his new condo across from the Yellow Freight Trucking company the yellow lights were so bright and you could hear on the PA system directions " Truck in #35 bay going to St Paul Minnapolis is leaving the dock" 35 is clear to someone waiting. Janove said to me No wonder why this condo was below the market value and sold fast. He lived there for about 4 or 5 years before he old it to another person Rest in Peace Steve. I will never forget you especially as a fellow teacher and always a loyal basketball fan sitting behind me all those years as I coached. I know you were Jewish but where ever you are I can never forget all those great times. love you for ever

thank you all Been thinking about him all day Such a funny guy I have a million stories . He was also our scorekeeper for about 10 years. Always with his sarcastic humor . I remember playing an upstate team and these kids are shooting 3's and hitting them . Steve at halftime comes up to me and says " everyone of these white kids has a backboard hooked up to his parents garage They all can shoot " get out of that 2-3 zone and go man/man " He was right . We were down by 6 at halftime . We went man/man second half and shut them down . The next morning in the teachers lounge He was taking credit for the comeback win I did give him credit for the win He was so proud all day because he was 100% right. Don;t think the other team hit one 3 pt shot the second half . They did score on some layups when my def players were in lala land and didn't switch. Obie Wan is somewhere up there looking down on us . Your friendship is always on my mind . Hope you rest in peace and will hook up with you someday . Thanks for the support here Apprecaite it
